I don't follow college much and don't pay attention to the prospects until close to the draft.    Early on I fell in line with the talk of it being a terrible draft class for QBs. Terrible y

The Giants offered a haul and the Titans quit even listening. The NFL decision makers know.   I also think it's pretty funny it actually took a few miracles for the Titans to fall into the #

Mahomes played at Texas Tech. Allen played at Wyoming. Level of competition isn't as important as traits that translate to the pro game.

You can see the elite traits that are there and he's also steadily improved year to year.  You can also see the areas he needs to clean up.  Now everything you can see from him the person would indicate he will do his best to improve his weaknesses.

In terms of the competition aspect, I'd say it really applies when we're talking about some of the highlight hero plays....he will need to learn what he can get away with at the pro level compared to the ACC.

But all of this is somewhat irrelevant now.  Ward was the #1 overall pick.  He is expected to be great/elite and he needs to be.

This is not the Oman post I expected to read today.  He makes solid points.  Somebody please tell me Bongo hated the pick.  There's going to be  a lot of pressure on this kid.  Not only the #1 overall pick pressure, but being anointed savior of a shitty franchise, already being compared to McNair and he's going to end up defining his head coach's career.   He seems to have a good head on his shoulders, but that's a lot of pressure.

On the other hand, if the Callahan’s get him hurt without protection it can get more of the same.  Keep building.

Unlike past years , I think they did their best to build a solid pass blocking OL across the board, so if there are struggles it’s probably some other issue.

Nah, I watched every single Titans game last season. I just think he's the best HC in the NFL and the best HC in the Titans history, I'm still shocked they fired him.

Cmon they fired him because they couldn’t win games and he always fielded dog shit OL.  You can watch the Pats and have them as your second team if you want.

I'll oblige.  Bongo wanted to trade the pick and thought Dart was better.

But he wasn't the only poster who wanted to trade the pick.  We'll know in a couple of years and the Internet won't forget.

Bongo started out hating the pick, but then backpedled into saying Callahan is the wrong coach for Ward. So... yeah, whatever.

Alright.  I'm almost on board.  Consider me cautiously optimistic, but I'm going to wait until I see him ball out with my own two eyes before going all in.  All the signs are good.

He was on drugs (more than usual during draft weekend).  I started laughing when he suggested we trade for Hendrickson and some other stuff.

Is it possible?  Yes.  Is it likely now?  No.  What I like about the kid is his make up.  He does not seem fragile at all.  He also is very experienced so he should be able to play a lot.  I do think he is going to be a turnover machine his rookie year.  But he also could put up some numbers if the let him sling it.

I did not hate it.  I just thought he was not worth number one.  I thought Hunter was.  My favorite thing about the kid is he seems mentally tough.  I love the way he came to the draft, no bling no bullshit just all ball.  I really liked that.  Foot ball seems like it matters to him.

But I am expecting him to challenge Manning for the rookie INT number.
