Opec is going to pump more oil

That will lower prices in the short term. Trump and his supporters will be along soon to take credit.

The question is whether it will be profitable for American drillers to operate when the price of oil drops?

That should seriously end a presidency, I'm not kidding   How stupid would you have to be to be a minority, lets just say Asian, and support this racist?

Trump is genuinely an idiot running the country. Like an extremely low IQ individual. Bush was dumb in his ways but this is another level. Fascinating to watch him with even less guard rails

Still amazes me that people haven't figured out that dropping oil barrel prices are so often a function of a global pull back in economic activity.

Hold on... no it doesn't.  The Kardashians was a popular show for 20 years.

We have vast oil reserves, but what the dumbasses don’t understand is it is expensive to get it. OPEC, not so much.  When OPEC decides to increase production, it lowers prices….which shuts down our capacity to produce because it’s no longer profitable to do so.

OPEC still has the ability to shutter our production.  And much of our own society is oblivious.  Just get lower gas prices. America first?  Idiots.  All idiots.

President Donald Trump announced Thursday he’s appointing Fox News host and former prosecutor Jeanine Pirro the interim US attorney for Washington, DC, after his first pick faced what appeared to be insurmountable pushback from Republicans on Capitol Hill.

Pirro, a longtime Trump ally who was a regular presence at Mar-a-Lago even before he ran for president the first time, earned quick praise from the GOP senator who had derailed the nomination of Ed Martin, Trump’s first pick for the role.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency faced fresh upheaval Thursday just weeks before the start of hurricane season when the acting administrator was pushed out and replaced by another official from the Department of Homeland Security.

The abrupt change came the day after Cameron Hamilton, a former Navy SEAL who held the job for the last few months, testified on Capitol Hill that he did not agree with proposals to dismantle an organization that helps plan for natural disasters and distributes financial assistance.

"I do not believe it is in the best interest of the American people to eliminate the Federal Emergency Management Agency," he said Wednesday.

The mayor of New Jersey’s largest city and a Democratic candidate for governor was handcuffed and detained by federal officials on Friday at a protest of an ICE facility following a scrum involving three members of Congress seeking a tour of the facility.

It was unclear if the mayor, Ras Baraka, was being formally arrested or exactly where he was after he was handcuffed Friday afternoon.

White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller said Friday that the Trump administration is "actively looking at" suspending habeas corpus, the right of a person to challenge their detention in court.

... "The Constitution is clear, and that, of course, is the supreme law of the land, that the privilege of the writ of habeas corpus can be suspended in time of invasion," Miller answered.

"So, it's an option we're actively looking at," he continued.
