You can't win anything important like that. This is shaping up to be 2020 levels of pass defense. The personnel just stinks. But what can you do? This is a full scale rebuild and you kind of had to fix the OL and draft the qb. I do think it’s easier to fix a pass defense in one year . Honestly this would be the ideal way to fix it imo. Get you're qb while you're drafting highest. Simultaneously fix your oline. Rebuild your stable of Wrs.. with at least 1 vet and then work to build timing, chemistry and comfort with that offense. That is what i hope we did. Then next year - you (depending on where we draft and who is available) hopefully get some big time playmakers on defense- Bc defense is likley teh quickest way to go from a losing team to at least a mediocre team. Offense usually takes the longest to develop... If all goes well- the Titans would be aligned for a big flip in competiveness next year with defense reinforcements. Taht is assuming the offense shows progress and we win at least a couple omore games to keep coaching stability. That would be a great way to script it- imo. rns90, and titanruss

By that time maybe the team will be in a position where it's not having to hoard as many picks and can make strategic trades like that. Or maybe they just wait for one of the other prospects to fall to them. Or my favorite alternative, a juice film of insert high profile player doing insert devious shit. Or smoking pot, apparently that works as well.

I don’t think they are that far away on offense or defense. The offense is just unproven just because they have a lot of young players . If one of these young WR hits , this has the makings of a top 15 offense going into 2026. Defense just lacks playmakers as you said. They already have DTs and look decent at S (health pending). And they have been churning through ILB. You shouldn’t spend a lot for a 2 down LB anyway. And looking towards 2026, starting level CB seem to be available every year. Not lockdown level CBs but just reliable starter types . Same with edge, you can get a rotational/borderline starter type. Add in the expected high draft picks in 2026 at EDGE and CB and the defense looks pretty improved for 2026. Pragidealist
titanruss
We could fix the pass D right now with a big trade but they don't seem to want to go that route. We couldve chased Judon. There is/was CBs out there with talent. I get it, they want to draft and retain. But you have to try and chase guys like Parsons if available. He's young and by far better than what we are going to get out of the next two first rounds. Micah takes the D to a top 10 level by himself when on the field. You make these moves while Ward is still cheap. If we had Parsons, we are 1 legitimate top 15 CB away from having an elite level Defense. On O, we need another Ridley level WR. That's it IMO and I think we are closer than we realize - at least with the starters. But they want to build depth, then find the stars. Its a little bit of a catch-22. We dont chase Parsons or expensive vets because we dont know if the offense is there yet. If we wait to find out and we ARE good offensively, its likely too late for the Parsons deal. If we hypothetically got Parsons and Cam or the Offense sucks, then the window with Parsons becomes much shorter. Hyperion, and Number9

So basically you just talked yourself both into and out of trading for Parsons in one post. Excellent work. Even workout Snead, you think it's that bad? Not arguing that it's good by any means, but... That season was historically difficult to watch. Chuck Cecil would've done better than that mess. IsntLifeFunny
I think if Snead doesn't return it's going to be horrific. Brownlee cannot hold up against 1s and neither can anyone else on the roster. We have next to zero pass rush unless Simmons has a career year and so do Key and Jones. I think we are going to get abused by good QBs just like we were last year. Some analyst said it best: the Titans earned the #1 pick. They'll still be bad, but at least they'll be entertaining. People are also failing to account for how much better the receivers in the division have gotten since 2020. The days of a washed T.Y. Hilton being the scariest opposing WR are over. Both Jacksonville and Houston have legit #1 receivers now that are athletic freaks and other good receivers around them. The best thing you can say about our top corner aside from Sneed is that he's scrappy. He got scraped by BTJ last season. The only thing that would make feel better about this secondary is a dominant pass rush and we look to be far away from that. titanruss, and IsntLifeFunny

If Sneed is gone or plays poorly, there is no way we matchup with the Jags, ....Thomas, Hunter and Brown as an example. We are fortunate that the Colts have no QB and seem to be falling apart due to injuries. Beating the colts are going to be must wins. FireInTheHole
I thought the expectation was the team would still be poor, but we are hoping for the progression of Ward this year? If that’s the case, why is everyone now sounding an alarm? Can’t fix the whole team in one offseason..
