There are currently four separate active fires burning in our county. Property insurance rates are inevitably going to go up and the smarter insurance companies have effectively left this God forsaken state the last couple years. I paid over $4k in health insurance last year, over $20k in property taxes, and an additional $4k in home insurance. Those of you who are not affected by these stupid policies can troll all you want but these are not topics that are a laughing matter to me. As long as I live here and pay taxes to the stupid city/county/state, you can say I am an idiot and, in part, I would agree with you. But that doesn't take away from the points that I have made. And you can choose to dismiss my points by saying I don't make any sense but you're probably reading through your politically biased perspective. Make some counter points and we can have a discussion but I think you and I both know you have absolutely nothing to stand on. Go back to watching Star Wars, Jedi. No1TitansFan
Maybe just maybe stop building houses in areas prone to wildfires that have historically been unable to defend vastly smaller number of homes against them .Residents of said homes endlessly running sprinklers and spraying down roofs when neither will do squat when the wave of wildfires fanned on by high winds hits may just have a little to do with reduced water availablity as well. There was no water management plan that was capable of diverthing northern cali water to the LA region. There have been water issues there going back 100 years and no one has been able to adequetely solve them. There's also a trillion dollar agricultural sector in cali that the whole country depends on for food that needs water. The Colorado river is drying up and everyone wants to point fingers about what to do about it. But as long as there are people who want exceptional experience, people will pay 2-3x's more to build a house overlooking a cliff where mudslides are definitely a problem. Why buy a house in Martha's Vineyard or West Palm Beach when global warming is definitely a problem? Why buy a 800 square feet house in Malibu for $3-4 million when you can buy a mansion in Georgia for $500k (at least my friend did)? If I would have it my way, I'd buy a small property in a relatively safe neighborhood and save most of my money to invest and retire early to live off passive income. My girlfriend prefers to have more experiences and live it up right now. It's a topic of contention at times... Different people value different things. Safety shouldn't be an option. I'd be okay with inserting another tax for the people in fire hazard zones strictly to be used for forest management and water management.

During the 50 and 60s, your average middle class family lived in a 1000 sq foot home with maybe a basement and your well to do person lived in a 2000, maybe 2500 sq foot house. If you were doing really well you bumped that up to 3500. Nowadays our whole society is built upon worshipping extravagance where taking up as much space and consuming as extravagantly as possible has become our national religion. Nowadays our whole society is built upon worshipping extravagance where taking up as much space and consuming as extravagantly as possible has become our national religion. It's only growing in intensity with the latest glamourous social media posts and viral clips. But to be honest, I grew up watching rap videos and idolizing celebs flossing their bling while partying with beautiful girls and consuming $1,000 beverages so it's not an entirely new thing. I guess I always knew that was a fantasy for me. Back in the 50-60"s most people probably had no choice but to fight in wars, work blue collar jobs, construction jobs, or in a manufacturing plants to provide for their family. They just put their head down to grind all week and hopefully their family will appreciate their hard work. I think there's virtue in doing the simple and unglamourous things to take care of your loved ones. Just a personal opinion

Nobel peace prize laureate being humored by a convicted felon and serial rapist? Oh the outrage!! In the political climate the media has carefully curated for us, this picture is completely inconsistent and should be an ideological impossibility. No wonder libs are flipping out over this lol

I know some think Obama is Jesus himself but outside of being a diety would your graciousness extend to making funny small talk with a convicted rapist some consider to be Adolf Hitler reincarnate? Nah, it's not Obama being gracious. It's just two politicians dropping the act for a little while. We know they all give each other reach arounds when there are no press or cameras around but we pretend like we don't for the sake of the game. 2 hours ago, OILERMAN said: Trump can't help be in awe next to Obama, he knows he's not worthy to sit next to him The only one who was in awe, and it was more of a jealous hatred than awe, was Kamala Harris when she looked back to see the two of them chatting it up. Judging by the look on her face when she turned back around I thought she might bite her husband's dick off. Assuming she hadn't already done that. Titandan
Obama's about to join the tres comas club ("Silicon Valley" reference) probably within the next decade. Trump knows Black Jesus is not about that life. I'm glad at least Oman found religion. The most accurate description of Obama without the rose colored glasses. I love these "I'm libertarian" dudes. By "love" I mean fuck them in their stupid asses. You're suppose to go through that libertarian idealist phase when you are 19-20 and come out of it when you realize it's unsustainable fantasy horseshit (same with Marxism/reading Karl Marx too). Our current pop culture arena is full of stupid shit-asses who had their college-era awakenings much later in life. A lot of folks don't realize Joe Rogan was a straight edge square until his 30s when he became a pot guy way late in life. The dude literally had his teenage stoner awakening in his late 30s. Same with Aaron Rodgers. Motherfucker was pushing 40 before he obtained this 19-year old's stoner notion of psychedelic drugs as these great teachers & then turned into a naturopath/alternative Medicine dimbulb like some granola liberal California anti-vaxx Mom in 1992. The culture is very, very fucking weird right now. Edited January 17 by 'Nator IsntLifeFunny, chef, and Justafan
