That seems an odd assertion. The assumption is that immigration “steals” jobs, but in practice what I see is immigrants do jobs that others aren’t willing to do. I do see companies sending jobs offshore or near shore, but again that isn’t immigration. Rather that’s capital performing wage arbitrage over borders. Such arbitrage opportunities are created when capital has fewer barriers to movement while labor has high barriers to move. If you wanna educate me then go ahead, but no I’m not gonna be convinced by merely “nope you’re wrong and not trying”. Share more evidence. No one ever said more workers don't yield more production. No one ever made the assumption that immigration "steals" jobs. Your inability to have a nuanced discussion and your insistence on putting words in my mouth to further your entrenched worldview are precisely the reasons I won't have this conversation or "try to convince you." The last thing I could ever do is convince you. I regret even dipping my toes in the toxicity of the politics forum. Good luck in your quest for education. The GDP is going to actually increase if you add more people. What makes that artificial? GDP per capita could increase or decrease depending on the productivity of the people added. Which brings me to my last question... Couldn't the economic growth outpace the population growth in a ton of scenarios? I don't understand your reasoning here that it just doesn't fullstop. What I mean is that it will increase general GDP while actually lowering GDP per capita. Yes, economic growth could outpace population growth in a ton of scenarios which is one of the reasons why immigration is generally a good thing. Number9
My next door neighbor's a white quadriplegic. He had a job working for the government. His mom told me that when he was born they told them to leave him at the hospital. His parents were good christian people. They didn't believe in murdering children, definitely not their own child. They took him home. He grew up and got a government job. He's rolling out of there too. OILERMAN

Is there a factual basis for this assertion that immigration lowers GDP per capita? Many immigrants come to the US as a young adult, work through their productive years, then go back home to retire. In such cases the US isn't paying for their retirement or long term healthcare.

pat
And yes, I know one can go back to 2021 and 2022 to find yearly inflation of about 7%, which was wild. From what I can tell, the Trump victory starts with going back to January 6, 2021 and resuming undeterred. In a conversational sleight of hand, that isn't a good place for inflation.
