It isn't a puff piece. If they didn't believe in Levis then they would have tried to trade up or taken a QB at 7.

Or at least scouted QBs more than they apparently did.  They seem to have gone into this draft like they'd already found their guy.

We picked 7th. If they didn't think Levis was the guy they would have taken a QB. It's that simple. They believe he can be, but Callahan isn't tied to him. He has this year to show he can stay healthy and make strides.

Or they didn't want their job security tied to Nix, Pennix, or McCarthy who would have had to operate behind the worst OT group in the league.

I get Locker flashbacks every time I hear good worker and hard worker praise.

Anyway, what’s the baseline for Levis to be a successful qb?  Basically what skills /numbers does he have to hit for him to be a success?  The biggest problems to me are that his short /intermediate accuracy and pocket presence/recklessness.  You’d hope that Callahan schemes up open and easy throws to improve the accuracy .  Plus this assumes that he’ll retain the deep ball accuracy.

I don’t think it’s as difficult as you say but it’s not easy.  Also, it’s kind of why this could go either way in terms of development.

His short to mid accuracy could vastly

improve with just the scheme change. His JR year of college in a similar scheme he was one of the most accurate players in the country on intermediate throws, and was as good or better than stroud/ young on short throws.

Having time and guys that can be consistently in the right spot will

help too.

Sure. We met with all of one QB while drafting 7th...

I really don't get why this is so hard for you. The team obviously believes in Levis as he was a big investment barely a year ago and he showed enough last year to get the starting job in 2024.  Saying they believe in him but that would be true of whoever the starting QB was due to Callahan's offensive philosophy are not opposing viewpoints.

I'm not sure why this is hard for you that I replied to Flamer who does nothing but shit talk Levis with every single post. We weren't interested in QBs because we have our QB.

Sorry Titans fans, but plenty of people think Levis sucks. I think it comes from folks watching him play. He objectively looked shitty. You’re gonna see a lot of people being big meanies to your QB. Better thicken up that skin!

Didn't you get banned?

Anyways, no one cares what anyone else thinks about Levis. We are discussing what the team thinks.

You can try and believe what the coaches say about the starting QB is just lip service.

But not drafting a QB when we are at likely our best chance to get o lne for a while says they believe in Levis more than lip service.

If they had drafted a QB you could say it was BS. Or if a former high pick was back there and they said they believed he could be a special player... then drafted a QB, what they said was bullshit.

As of now there's much more to indicate they actually believe what they are saying and think they can work with the guy for a decade.
