Vrabel gaining more personnel control is not a good thing - regardless of who the new GM is - I promise you that.

Vrabel's comment "who is he going to throw it to?" about the receivers/Malik is a little more cryptic now.    I loved Jrob, but I love AAS more. She ain't fucking around. Ya love to see it.

NPT has been awful lately, not to Daley level .  But he definitely hasn't played as well as earlier.

Also memo to future titan GM candidates: do not fuck up on the OL.  It will get you canned.

I said it yesterday but I think you have to pour nearly all offseason resources into the OL. spend on some mid tier CB and WR options but the rest goes to OL.

That's not even the worst part.  I didn't mind the Jones trade just on concept.  But Atlanta was cap strapped and somehow Robinson took on the entrie contract and still forked out a high pick.  Usually, when you take on the entire contract, you give up less.  Total retardation on that.

Remember none of us could believe they took on the contract after the pick compensation was announced? Mind boggling trade. I was okay with the idea of going after Jones but that trade was awful.

Or...

You go with a mobile QB, run more option stuff, and hope that masks the deficiences.

I'm not personally advocating for getting rid of Tannehill, but they are going to have to make some hard decisions and I'm not convinced Vrabel is all-in on Tannehill.

And they did it specifically to make Brown happy, presumably so that he'd be more cooperative when it was time to negotiate.  It backfired all the way around

I don't think Tannehill is going anywhere unless they find a better option in FA (not happening) and they won't draft high enough to get in position to pick a qb anyway.  He's staying.  And more importantly, I think Vrabel trusts him as his qb.

even if they change QB they have to rebuild the OL...

He's stated multiple times that it's "up to the QB" to get the ball to receivers, when asked if he was going to get Burks or Okonkwo more involved.  That's kind of concerning because the schemed plays just suck and he should know it.  And I don't doubt that Tannehill leaves yards on the field sometimes, but that would still be an overblown argument

It's okay to say that JRob is a pretty good GM but not a great one. He made some good moves early on, made a lot of shitty ones later on. There's a lot of grey here. Some people are better at rebuilding broken things, some people are better at optimizing things that already work pretty well. It's the same reason that successful startup founders are almost never good CEOs of the same company at scale. It takes a different skillset.

I love the move.

In baseball, power hitters strike out alot but they also hit homeruns. You have to have those other guys with a good batting average to be on base for those homeruns.

Give him an OLine and weapons that aren’t shit and he can manage the offense.

Didn't Vrabel say some shit (to AJB) like "You're not going anywhere as long as I'm the Head Coach?"

Found it:

Mike Vrabel: A.J. Brown isn’t going on the trade block “as long as I’m the head coach”
