Bud on suicide watch

I'm still holding out hope Austin or San Antonio can swoop in at the last minute!

Cities that haven't won anything shouldn't be calling other places dumps, especially if the other spot has won multiple championships.

One has nothing to do with another.  Nashville is a much nicer city than San Antonio.

This is a dumb argument, even by your moronic standards.

Let's not get sidetracked on the issue at hand....

Who could have guessed that the Nashville Metro Council would be trying to change the agreement that the city and team negotiated to take money from the Titans and give it to the city general fund....to the tune of at least $ 470 M?

Quote

Cooper aide Mike Jameson told council that Taylor's amendment could represent a $470 million revenue loss for the Titans, according to a "conservative" estimate.

That's a problem, a Titans spokesperson says, because the financing of the $2.1 billion stadium "was carefully crafted over many months."

"Altering one piece of the financial structure impacts the entire agreement. We look forward to continued discussion at the next meeting with council," spokesperson Kate Guerra tells Axios.

Oh wait....I did :)

This deal will get done on the NFL/Titans terms or they'll find another city that will play ball.....The city better fix this or it could blow the deal up.   It's that simple.

LOL if the city botches this as the Titans just admitted that the current stadium isn't up to NFL standards......I'm sure St. Louis or San Antonio would love the team!

I would really enjoy such an outcome.

A brand new state of the art stadium on 1-35 between San Antonio and Austin would be sweet.

We've already gone through this with Nashville SC. Cooper pulled the rug out from under them at the 11th hour and it worked in the city's favor, and the team caved (saving the city over a hundred million in debt). I doubt he would try this with the NFL but some posturing might sweeten the deal. Regardless, they're not dumb enough to try and get back half a billion dollars from the team/nfl.

All of Bud's moronic I told you so's will be proven to be as stupid as they initially sounded in a very short amount of time. Also, I find it funny how Bud ridicules rumors and inference when it comes to the Titans moving on from Tannehill, but when it's something he's in support of (the team relocating), rumors are essentially irrefutable evidence in support of his agenda.

And I'll guarantee if the team does move, they sure as help won't be going to San Antonio.

I honestly have no idea why some people who seem to have such disdain for the city of Nashville even root for the franchise.

Agree. Bunch of sad, bitter geriatrics here. The team has been in Tennessee almost as long as it was in Houston at this point.

I don't despise Nashville (just like majority of out of town fans) but for literally everyone not living in the area, none of us care at all about the location besides I guess you could say the stadium getting overrun every single weekend because opposing fans choose it as their destination game while local fans are fairweather as much as majority of sports fans throughout the country.

Nashville is not NYC or LA where there are the mega contracts out of the sport that go alongside with being the face of the city. The location itself means very little and my guess is around 1/3 - 1/2 of NFL teams are in a state that does not have state income tax.

I always find it funny when people talk about Nashville being such a good free agent destination for stuff like it being a hip city in the middle of the country.

I get that.  But there are people openly rooting for the team to move.  If you dislike the city that much root for the Texans since you likely were an Oilers fan.

That "dump" at least has a team that has won multiple championships in a major sport.

....and sewers are full of remnants of the finest caviar and foie gras.

If you rank a city solely on sports championships then you're gonna have a bad time..
