Titans New Stadium Discussion

Metro council will send it back to the Titans to "sweeten the deal" Titans will, and it'll pass.

I don’t think so. I think it will pass as drafted. The current lease is not good for the city. This deal isn’t great, but it’s better than paying for improvements out of the general fund.

Titans aren't going anywhere you baboon. unless the city fucks it up......

Fixed it for you dumb fuck.....If Metro fucks around on this, they absolutely could.  The NFL is undefeated in getting new stadiums and if you don't play ball, they take the ball somewhere else.

There's never been a single indication that the city has fucked anything up or that the team is at all unhappy with the city/state. Also very few cities have been as accommodating to a team as Nashville has been to the Titans. It's a different landscape and most cities aren't selling the farm to teams like they used to in the 90s/early 2000s. The team knows it's in a good place. You're the only person on planet earth saying this dumb shit.

Wrong my inbred imbecile....

The team obviously wants to stay.  I've never claimed otherwise.  But that's with the caveat of a new stadium on the deal they agreed to.  Do you really think the team will be happy and stay IF Metro says no to the stadium deal?  Of course not.   They've already shown that the city is in breach of the existing lease because they failed to maintain the stadium.

There's no question at all that unless the city finishes approving the stadium deal, the NFL and team will find a city that will.  Ask Oakland, San Diego, and St. Louis......It amazes me that you are this dense.  I knew you were stupid but still....

Of course the team would leave if the thing you say happens, but it’s never going to happen. Nashville government is happy to bend over backwards for the team. they're not going anywhere and you’re bloviating over the most extreme unlikely scenario.

I say let the team leave, personally. But the city government (which you know nothing about), will pucker right up for the team when push comes to shove.

I'm glad you concede that I'm right.....

The city will agree to the terms of the existing deal if they want the team to stay.  As I initially stated on page 1 of this thread.  The NFL always wins.

Anyone pretending the city has any leverage over the Titans is delusional.   A handful of cities would be wanting the Titans to move there if Nashville fucks it up.

They have bumped the completion date to 2027.  Not looking good.

I don't think it's a huge issue really at least at this point.  Metro dragging their feet to approve on something that should be a formality is something to watch though,

Yes and no... it wasn't because they dragged it out... it was being rushed to make the 2026 World Cup. The timeline was already very tight. We didn't get the bid for games ... so they can go with a more reasonable timeline and do things correctly.

I thought the 2026 world cup locations were already picked months before our stadium plan even came out.

They announced the world cup locations on June 16th last year. From everything I read the opriginal plans were very rushed for a possbility at a '16 world cup bidding and then translate that into being ready for the season. Articles were stating in march/april of last year when the renderings were released that the rushed timeline was a little crazy before it even came close to meeting with the city for approval.

When the world cup bidding fell through In june, Mike Keith and a few others locally were saying that the the new timeline was for '17 season and that the '16 was really in hopes of the World Cup coming here.

So yeah i guess you could say its a little of both but really felt like the pressure to speed it up was for the WC as an opening event. ... because, like why wouldnt you want the biggest event in the world to come to town and to show off our fancy new stadium and river scene.

What Bud never mentions is that it's the city that proposed a solely indoor facility and a larger development are footprint around it; their plans for it are even more ambitious than the Titans original concept, of course they're going to approve it.

Obviously. Which is the entire point.

I don't know why you are making a stink about someone saying that the NFL has no problem relocating when cities don't bend over backwards, I highly doubt the NFL thinks Nashville is any sort of special because they hosted the largest draft.

There's a non-zero chance shit could fall through... anything could happen. But that non-zero chance is really like 1/9999.

The city wants it and is asking for it... they are posturing to act like they dont want to spend oney on it but I'm sure all of them are getting kickbacks and they know they tourism/revenue from it will outweigh the cost quickly.

The venue is also going to be a premier place to watch any huge event and will definitely host superbowls, NCAA champonships in a variety of sports, Hockey games, NBA, Concerts from 15k- 60k, Monster truck shit, rodeos, massive church shit.. all the things.

Its very much a multiuse thing and will be able to be used more easily because of the turf.

It's not going to fail no matter how much @BudsOilers wants it to because his heart is still broken about it leaving a shitty ghetto ass town like Houston.

Wrong.  I could care less that they moved from Houston.  A place I haven't lived in since 1978.

I want the team to get their rightfully deserved state of the art stadium, especially since Nashville did such an awful job building the first one.  If it's in Nashville, great.  If the Metro Council somehow fucks it up, it will be somewhere else and I'll laugh at how dumb the city was in trying to fuck with an NFL team.

Houston didn't build the new stadium either....until they lost the team and had to do it anyway and crawled back to the NFL begging for a team.
