Ofc they care, they want to be the ones squeezing every last penny they can out of the customers not letting someone else do it. Does it really matter for them? No, but they sure as hell want to be the ones making that extra 3-10%.

I think their big point, of course, is that a higher "tax" or "fee" makes them less competitive with other venues/cities for concerts and events.  That's in part why the other council person is trying to propose a 3% cap for the city.   The team may still balk as of right now, the agreement entitles the Titans to this money, not the city.

This means the ticket fee or tax doesn’t have to be paid by ticket buyers. Instead, the Titans and promoters can choose whether to pass it on to consumers.

The second article claims another council member is working to propose an amendment to the amendment wiping away the 10% and instead making it 3%.

Good luck fellas with the move the stadium campaign.  NFL wants a stadium in Nashville and Nashville is gonna make it happen.  Titans are going to stay right where they are for a very long time.

It was always about the funding.  The NFL and team wanted a new stadium regardless of location.  Nashville is not some strategic market for them….

So they vote again next Tuesday and then after that if it is approved and if they could (which I know they can’t), they technically could break ground after that?

Sounds like 3rd reading us supposed to be a formality from everything I’ve read on it.

 

I don’t think the people opposed to the stadium have enough votes at this point. The guy that tried the big bait and switch with the 10% deal voted no

Ground breaking probably wouldn’t happen til after this season.

Do you not see why people have called you out on this? You’ve been openly rooting for it. You’ve been absolutely giddy about the possibility. No one is denying the NFL always wins. If the NFL and team wanted to stick it to the city then they would have unilaterally renewed their lease and said 100% fun the contractually obligated upgrades out of the general fund.
