Feels like I'm back in the 90's watching a friend of mine in SF with a budding coffee shop get crushed by Starbucks and Pete's in a pressured lease deal.

As for losing cred, in real life people were surprised I didn't let the guy drown. Although to be fair he likely doesn't die anyway

I've eaten (and served) plenty of veal.  Including bobby aka drop veal.  In some ways not so different.  We just have a system where we conveniently forget how our plates of food came to be.
