I heard on 104.5 today that if a player is on the 53 roster 1 week before the season starts, then their salary is good for the entire year so that may impact these last few days of player movement.

As long as they're a vested veteran(4 accrued seasons) salary is guaranteed. Often you see vets added after week one to avoid the guarantee

If Restrepo had not played for one year with Ward at Miami, a fringe back end of roster/practice squad guy would not have generated the attention on here or on social media.  He's basically Mason Kinsey.

Apart from being a productive college receiver with the number one pick, having the explicit backing of the number one pick and being in the building really early and working closely at all times with the number one pick?

It's absolutely true.  If he had not played with Ward, he would not be getting anywhere near the attention.

 

There's a reason why he was undrafted, waived and unclaimed, waived and unclaimed again and on the Kinsey career path.

 

It's also the same reason the team gave a top of market slot WR contract to Robinson instead of giving Restrepo a legit shot at being an actual contributor.
