i don’t think it’s unreasonable to say Dike is more of a lock to make the active roster than Ayo due to ST.  But Ayo is the better WR option/prospect.

Of course Dike is a lock to make the active game day roster, he's an all pro return man

And how is Ayo a better WR prospect? Based on what?

Welp there it is lol

lol PK posted AI slop and had to delete it    it was a graphic of the 30 most important titans at training camp this year and feature notable titans such as Jared Verse, Jaylon Johnson and N

It would be pretty ideal if Latham is making strides to becoming the OT he was drafted to be and Carmona is a solid starting rookie.

Im not pointing out the special teams aspect because that was never my argument, i just mention it because mythos asked and I was covering both sides.

As for ayo going off in camp, I hope it is legit but this team has a spotless track record of the media fawning over a WR or the fan base to have some pointless favorite, that is normaly a 7th round pick though and it always blows up in epic fashion as soon as the pads go on.

The nonsensical part of this is you going after me for saying I hope he works out even though I need to see him make progress in real gsmes before I belive he is more than a stop gap. His play last year showed very little to be optimistic about.

Showing big plays means he can clearly play in this league. Doing it in the situation last year shows even more potential. Being consistent is what you have to do to become a good player.

as of now he's reportedly been the most consistent pass catcher. Now let's see how it translates to being consistent through the Full pads and preseason games. Because if it continues, he's a clear starter. As of now he's just a 100% lock to make them 😉

My problem with the he is a lock side of things is that they seem to think he is more likely to start 10+ games than he is to be a depth piece continuing to grow.

He was really rough as a rookie and didnt seem to do anything to fix his main issues from college. He needs more time.

If we didnt draft tate or sign robinson then sure, he will defacto be a starter again and hopefully do better, but with how things went down he is far more likely and would be better off as a situational backup who is learning and not asked to do a ton.

I agree with most of that. We'll see if all of the hype he's getting is indicative of real growth but if not he's likely still not quite ready to be one of the big dogs and that's ok for now.

He was a 4th round rookie playing as the #1 receiver against teams #1 DBs, with absolutely no one to take pressure off him,  while playing the hardest defensive schedule in 25 years,  and had all his coaches fired 2 times - neither of whom had head of presnap motion....  and did it while beating out 2 vested vets. He def hit a rookie wall after he hurt his hamstring. Started playing better after he recovered.

If someone is judging any rookies poorly based on last year they are either lazy or dumb. They all did incredible while dealing with an absolute shitshow.

My issue with him is that while everything you stated is true, he still dropped way too many balls that hit him right in the hands and he was open. He wasn't consistent enough to take advantage of his opportunities and that simply has to change for him to be what we hope. Until I see indications that this has changed it'll be hard for me to look at him as someone we should be counting on in the immediate future.

First of all Dike plays the Z like Ridley, Ayo plays the X. He played almost every snap last season at X.

2nd of all, Dike is guaranteed to be an active on game day.

Based off last year there is no way Dike isn't a better WR option than Ayo

X and Z aren't so rigid that coaches will let it get in the way of putting their best players on the field. Now if they try him at Z and he can't do it that's a different story but IMO it's much easier to go from X to Z than the other way around. I like Dike but I see him as a deep threat rather than the guy you want running slants, digs, etc. We'll see what the coaches think of them shortly. Personally, I'd use Dike like a bigger Khalif Raymond. Nice returner that has a lot of juice and can give you that speed element in the passing game but not an every down guy.

But much of this board is beginning to look pretty stupid because how is "he will develop from his rookie season to year 2" not the obvious assumption.

4th round WR initially drafted as a project actually outperformed expectations and WON the #1 WR spot as a rookie. And the immediate take was "well he was one of the worse starting #1 WRs in the NFL, I doubt he develops beyond that".

It was a stupid take that so many took adopted

Development isn't as automatic as people think. A lot of guys never get much better then they were as rookies which is why so many wash out so quickly. Then there is the reality that even if a guy does develop that development might still not be enough to make him a quality starter. I think taking development for granted when we've seen so much evidence of the opposite is pretty dumb. We'll see how much he's improved or not when the bullets start flying in September.

And 2/3 days of training camp fuzz. Don't believe it? Just ask his cheerleader, Easton Froze.

If easton was the gm we would have traded up into the 20s for him.

I never understood all the screens they were giving him. I guess they assumed since he was good returning punts that is kinda the same thing but they couldn't block anyone and even if they could it really isnt the same thing.

He is definitely at his best running intermediate to deep routes where that deceptive speed can build up.

Speaking of stupid takes....is Ayomanor still an all pro in the making?  Which btw, you posted after he had played in 2 games and  caught 6 passes.

That's what this ridiculous narrative is all about, trying to save face over that.
