Titans 2026 Training Camp Discussion

Watching the video of the pass Cam sailed to Tate in the Seahawks game, it does seem like it isn't overall an accuracy issue as much as a timing and option routes one. I know it's only the one play, and it doesn't mean there aren't some mechanical concerns as well as him not seeming comfortable in the pocket, but he throws the ball right as Tate breaks off and flattens the route. I think the timing part is the biggest issue. Hopefully.

Have you watched the Kurt Warner video yet?

Welp there it is lol

lol PK posted AI slop and had to delete it    it was a graphic of the 30 most important titans at training camp this year and feature notable titans such as Jared Verse, Jaylon Johnson and N

It would be pretty ideal if Latham is making strides to becoming the OT he was drafted to be and Carmona is a solid starting rookie.

he hardly ever aligns his feet to where he's throwing.

The two places I'm seeing after watching the video is the feet issue is still live, but this place where he's throwing on first read and then scrambling outside of the tackles is the part that worries me the most. Fixing your feet mechanics isn't overly tough unlike changing actual throwing motion. The one read and bail isn't going to cut it in the NFL.

Relax guys.  Perhaps our QB is one who needs to get lathered up for peak performance, and that happens as the game goes along.  Perhaps he needs to throw one high and fast, take a hit to get settled.  Seeing him in 15-20 plays in preseason is not enough to make an assessment.  You all saw how he finished the season.  Perhaps we have a closer who gets better as the game goes along.  Relax and let the season play out…and enjoy the ride.

Missed that. What'd he say?

It's not a fun watch but I think it's informative. You should take the time.

It was a good 60-70% of throws where he points out that Cam's feet / body aren't aligned with where he's throwing, which means he has to do it all with arm talent and that leads to inconsistency / inaccuracy. Just bad fundamentals and it led to misses or took yards away from completions where the receiver had to adjust. Also a few plays where Cam read it too slow. Overall, kind of a disconcerting watch.

I paid attention to see if he would comment on the timing and communication of that longer throw to the right, in particular, since people have suggested he might have just expected the receiver to continue and I figure if Warner thought that was the case then he'd call it it ... but no mention of that.

Those are the throws he makes that only 2 or 3 other QBs in the NFL are capable of.

...and why the pearl clutching about where his feet are pointing is overreacting.

He's never going to have textbook mechanics. Can he improve? Absolutely, and he should. But you also don't want to coach out of him what makes him special.
