His production seems like it would be easy to replace for a fraction of the cost. And I'm not as down on him as some but he's another year older this year. I just hope the coaches don't keep trotting Pollard out there despite the glaring difference in explosion. There is nothing more frustrating than seeing a play perfectly blocked for a long TD and the hole closes before the RB gets there because he lacks explosion. Justafan Posted April 26 Report Share Posted April 26 I think it's extremely premature to assume that a guy who had 500 yards his SR year is going to overtake Tony Pollard as a rookie. Having said that, as a piece in an RBBC, I think Singleton has a chance to contribute. The vision stuff is overblown, and he's got good athleticism (even if it is hyped up some), and he's a guy that can play all three downs. He's definitely got more burst than Carter, Mullings, or Chestnut, and he can catch some out of the backfield and looks decent enough in pass protection. Titans still don't have a guy who can win in short-yardage situations consistently, and I'm not sure Singleton's strengths marry all that well with the Titans' run blocking scheme (based on what Daboll has done in the past), but for a 5th round flyer, it's good value. I definitely think they needed to add someone to the room with some juice, and they did that with Singleton while not using premium draft capital to do it. His size, workout numbers and speed are on par or better than Saquons and he passed his TD record while working in a time share. No one is saying he IS saquon. Maybe it's better to ask what happened his sophomore and senior seasons vs the freshman and junior ones. A 2ypc difference doesn't just happen.
