No matter how you want Vrabel to get in trouble, it's not likely to happen. Deal with it. Lol. This essentially proves my point. I don't give a fuck if Vrabel gets in trouble or not. So what's the metric we are evaluating here? There has been a consequence to her in that she's lost her job. Vrabel hasn't lost his job yet, that is essentially true. I honestly do not care if one or the other loses their job. So in this sense she has "gotten in trouble" and he "has not gotten in trouble". That shoe could still fall as shit is coming out. She is "disgraced". Yes, her reputation has absolutely taken a hit. I'd say Vrabel's reputation is hit here too--we will see what the result of that is on his NFL career. In hiding? Reports are now coming out that she is getting ready to tell her story. It's not like Vrabel has been front or center at all and has been directly addressing this with the media in a meaningful way. My perspective is that this will ultimately have an effect on Vrabel, his relationship with the team, and his reputation in the league. And he will have to continue to work on that. Now, I haven't paid attention to this whole thread admittedly, but it seems like you are putting forward that nothing will come out of it for Vrabel and that she is facing all the consequence--that's way too simplistic for me, and this generalization on your part is not some kind of big point to stunt on. Why is there this tendency to make it all on one party or the other? It is true sometimes these behaviors have limited effect on a coach. Other times, it sinks the ship. More comes out about this every day, and the more that is does the less it bodes well for Vrabel.

The fact that she's a woman is definitely playing a part, but the respective professions are playing an even bigger part. If a reporter was the brother-in-law of a coach (different relationship...but now they are both men), then he would likely have to recuse himself from stories about the coach. Whether she actually used the relationship or not doesn't matter, because the perception will be there. It already is, and not just because she's a woman. I'm not going to assign blame to either of them for the affair. We don't know enough info there. But the professional aspect definitely hurts her career, even if they had both come clean from the start. Actually, her denials were not as bad as Vrabels But whatever. Her ROLE means that she will suffer greater career consequences, most likely. However, the funny thing about this is that Vrabel has made everything so much worse with how he's responded. The media on this is blowing up way more than it usually would, and that might actually end up causing him problems. I agree that she will suffer more professionally. Even if Vrabel gets fired, he'd land another job or series of jobs. That it won't affect his ability to do the job well is something I disagree with. I also think it is wrong to say he is not bound by ethics or standards of conduct. We know the NFL will let a lot go there, and it seems they aren't investigating him, so there won't be an immediate impact, at least right now. I absolutely think this kind of distraction will effect the team. It might not be because Roger Goodell is doing something to enforce it--but other GMs negotiating trades, Vrabel trying to enforce locker room conduct. All the rumors around Vrabel are not in his favor. There are players defending him, but others ripping into him. Reports coming out about his drinking--and the fact that he was having the affair and having interactions with her seemingly when she was pregnant--there are players who will not respect his leadership. He is the enforcer of the team and organizational culture. Is anyone seriously arguing that team culture is not important? This kind of thing could be precarious, especially if the Patriots face a setback dealing with a much harder schedule next season. Winning of course will help him and could help move past it quicker. Drake Maye and McDaniels could be his saving grace. We will see what happens. His ability to set this aside is going to be huge, as he is potentially going to be navigating a shit storm with his wife and family. It is not a given that he will just be able to compartmentalize and focus on the season.

You can’t trust anything she writes now and you basically have to view her past articles (esp the ones that benefit Vrabel ) with high skepticism. Don’t get me wrong Vrabel is a slezeballl too for having an affair but in terms of who fucked up more, it’s Russini by a landslide. I don’t pretend to know journalism as a profession, but I’m fairly certain much of the coursework after the mechanics of good writing involves ethics training, and reinforcing that over and over again. One of the YT vids covering this saga went over an extremely small “violation” from one of the podcaster’s colleagues years ago who gave a $20 gift card to athletes as a thx for putting up with repetitive questions — small school stuff, iirc. As soon as the other podcaster heard him say $20 gift,.. he cut the guy off and said “you can’t do that! That’s journo 101”, almost reflexively. My takeaway was journalists know right from wrong, grey areas, and when one of their colleagues is a habitual line stepper (rip Charlie Murphy), and when they’ve crossed over to the dark side. Russini knew exactly what she was doing at all times, took that $$$ to the bank, and didn’t care about consequences or ruining lives. That’s why no journalists are standing by her as a professional. You would be shocked that most of the time the married ones are the most open to cheating. I've seen it first hand. Shit I could tell you some stories that would blow some of your minds. Nah dude. Get out of that incel mindset before it ruins your worldview long-term. Its possible the crew you are with or the media you consume has trashy women and men acting like all women are like that - but thats not remotely close to true. Its just a familiarity bias. In college most everyone I knew smoked weed or did drugs of some sort. We had a mindset that EVERYONE was doing it. They werent. My family at home and sisters and most of my high school friends werent doing it. The neighbors I had growing up werent doing it. In big cities I moved to and in other social circles it was much more taboo and most werent. 90% of people dont do that. But when surrounded and pretty much everyone you know acts a certain way, you apply that to the larger world... its flawed logic. But also, play fair. Dont go out and lust after women or watch porn and then get mad or think the women in your life are trashy if they do the same. I don't necessarily agree about thinking women are trashy if they are doing the same things as men, because it's FAR easier for women to get laid than men. That's why a woman who sleeps with a ton of men is a whore, and a guy who does it is a stud. To sleep with a woman, men have to have some game, money, aura...whatever you want to call it. Women can literally walk down the street and find 20 guys willing to fuck them.
