This isnt a job that needs to be replaced every coaching cycle. It shouldn't even be related to the coach or his decision making. It should be a world renown badass that is decided higher up organizationally.. a Brinker / Nihil / McIntyre decision. These hires need to be entrenched a bit in order to understand local conditions and player needs. Grade them compared to the rest of the league as far as injuries and improvements and on field strength/speed/quickness metrics with the understanding that injuries are unpredictable and some bad streaks happen. The hires need to be familiar with how local weather, practice conditions, foods and field surfaces can affect injures. Firing them and starting over with every new coach messes up the off-season exercise programs too. Titans didn’t switch from Baptist to St. Thomas. Baptist was acquired by St. Thomas. reo
2 hours ago, TerryBoats said: That's ... Not great. He was a DC for 12 seasons, and those top 10 units were stacked defenses that anyone could succeed with. bit of a tautological argument there. if he gets them to a top 10 defense, people we see those players as very good and that defense is stacked. if he doesn't get them to top 10 then they're missing talent. that being said, i'm not overly impressed. It's been 8 years since he had one.

TeamRamrod
Saleh said we would know his OC contingency plan when the full staff is announced. I just assumed it would be a passing game coordinator. Interesting we haven’t heard anything about that yet. Waiting on Kingsbury?

I have high hopes for defense under Saleh. titanruss

He thinks Daboll is the right fit, and said the Titans offense will look very similar to…the Patriots!! IMO it’s more likely the contingency OC has experience in that system titanskick8851, and begooode

He's basically just there as a set of extra eyes and experience and a guy to use if Saleh has to give up the play-calling duties to focus elsewhere. He could easily be replaced in a couple years if we need to promote talent or find someone else.
