They have used a first round pick on a RB while Veach has been the GM (I know it wasn't with a top 10 pick though but this is the highest they have been slotted to pick since they drafted Mahomes). Yeah, but according to some, there is no way you take a RB in the top 5, let alone trade 2 1st round picks along with a starting CB (a "premium position ") to get into the top 5 to select one. Its more likely that they probably take a CB there. They are in the best position to take Delane or McCoy

In this draft I'm not sure it will take that much to get up from #9 to #3 especially when the target is obviously not subject to the QB tax. I'm by no means suggesting this is something the Chiefs WILL do more that they have the ammunition now to pull it off IF it is something they want to do. I doubt Chiefs use that much to trade up just bc they seem to like draft capital. BUT- that is why I think the Titans liking Love is true. It allows them to assess what they can get. Chiefs don't have to trade to 3. They may be able to trade to 4...
BeedoeLaw
What would it take to move from 4 to 9? I would think 9 and 29. Or 9 and a 27 1st. Edited March 4 by BeedoeLaw

That would allow Ossenfort to pick up more draft capital and take his RT in a more appropriate position in this draft. If the titans want love so bad they have to trade up one pick to get him, I WILL kill myself with an icicle. I don't see that happening. It might suck though bc the top edge would likely still be gone and no one but maybe a tackle falls to you. I think you instead hope they want to trade with you for Love and not above you. Then you can just sit and compare which you like better. The superstar running back or two firsts. Easy decision for many.
BeedoeLaw
If they trade ahead of us for Love, im likely taking Reese or Styles, whoever is left. The more I have seen of Bailey, the more I like Styles. reo
titansfan
Its extremely unlikely the Chiefs will effectively trade McDuffie and the 9th pick just to move up and take Love (or really anyone in this particular draft)... its actually almost a ridiculous notion. The Chiefs have a lot of needs and are retooling their salary distribution and having to make their roster younger a key positions. They tend to gather and build through the draft- not use them as capital often (or ever- I can't think when the last time they spent a pick in trade-- but going by memory)
