I asked about the Giants not the Eagles. The Eagles didn’t spend the 2nd overall pick on a RB. They were smart enough to wait till he hit FA. I haven't looked back but I am sure I can go back and monday morning qb that draft to show who they should have drafted over Latham. The point is- no one should get stuck on position and need to focus on getting the talent eval right It is about position lol that’s the whole point japan

Here are the last few starting RB in the conference championships: Walker (2nd rounder ), Stevenson (4th rd, draft), K Williams (6th rd), Harvey (3rd rd—the other RB was a FA signing that got injured). Barkley (FA signing), Pacheco (7th rd), Cook (2nd rd), Eckler (FA signing). You do not need to spend a top 5 pick on one. I can’t remember when the last time someone spent a top 5 pick on a RB and their team reached the SB or a conference championship game. lol We're not talking about what you "can" do but what actually happens. Love is a superstar talent. Its not normal for a guy like Barkely to hit free agency. And definitely not normal to get a very good anything in the 6th round. You can get any position at near hall of fame level in any round. That logic is always flawed. Why in the hell did we spend a 1rst round pick on a qb when you can get a hall of famer in the 6th! I will be very happy with the Love pick. I will also be very happy if they pick the RIGHT edge who is superstar worthy. Get the superstar and screw positional value UNLESS you have the choice of two superstars. Then get the position of higher value. prometheus, and rns90 1

Still over focused on positino.. even when trying to give bad examples. In the top 10.. you get superstars.. the higher you are.. the more likely you can a) get one and b) have some selection around positional value. But priority 1 is get the superstar. If he gets Kenneth then that ends the Love conversation. I can't see why he would need or worry about draft related smokescreen for Free agency though. If you’re actually talking about what actually happens it’s that teams that take a RB in the top 10 don’t usually reach the Super Bowl or a conference championship when that RB is actually on their team. But please keep on telling us how we need superstars.

If one is there that is an Edge- you get that. Simple. If there is not a superstar Edge for this defensive scheme- then you pass and go for a superstar player. Who do you see as the superstar players? I only see two that have been nearly guarneteed. Love and Downs. But maybe.. the team or your see someone else as one. That's 100% fine. I just dont want them getting their third choice DE bc he is a DE -- I want them goet the one they thing is superstar, franchise building material.
