Titans Get The #4 Pick In The Draft

You've got your captain of the offense for the next decade. Get the one on defense the next year!

Won't get any arguments from me if that is how it plays out.

With all the reporting prior to FA that the Titans were all in on the LB market it is noticeable they ended up doing exactly zero there yet, that doesn't mean it has to be Styles at #4 but I think they are probably drafting a LB at somepoint.

Love immediately makes you a more explosive team. He's going to add 10-20 TDs a year through the run and pass game. He's going to upgrade your pass protection. He's going to force teams to account for

lol

Love is at least an elite pass catcher and 3 down RB.    I'm torn.    He'd be the best RB by a mile since Earl   Plus I'm already itching to turn on him

Give me anyone out of Bailey/Styles/Love/Tate/Reese I don't really care any of them will make this team better.

Kind of interested to see the Jeremiah and Kiper Jr mock drafts that are dropping on Tuesday does Jeremiah still go with Bailey for the Jets at #2 and is it EDGE or OL for the Cardinals at #3.

What in the fuck is going on in here? Sonny Styles? Absolutely not, Love bros we need to rein in this bullshit.

What’s wrong friend? Afraid of a little IMPACT VALUE OVER POSITIONAL VALUE?!

If the argument is throw positional value out the window and take the best prospect period there is a good argument to be made styles is the most insane prospect in the draft. Love is great but he isnt the clear best prospect at his position in the last 10 years. Hes certainly a fantastic prospect but styles is the only true to the definition of the word, generational prospect. Who was the last LB near or equal to him on paper? Luke Kuechly?

Ok first of the new mock drafts for today just dropped.

Mel Kiper Jr has the Jets taking David Bailey at #2 and the Cardinals taking Arvell Reese at #3.

4. Tennessee Titans

Jeremiyah Love, RB, Notre Dame

Here is where things get interesting. We haven't seen a running back go in the top four since Saquon Barkley (No. 2 in 2018), and the Titans certainly have a long list of issues -- even after aggressively spending in free agency last week. But Tennessee is committed to boosting the offense around second-year quarterback Cam Ward, and Love would take the run game to another level while also serving as a dynamic pass catcher. His game features 4.36 speed, excellent vision, run-you-over power and soft hands.

Love would be an immediate upgrade over Tony Pollard for new offensive coordinator Brian Daboll.

I would be happy with Styles at 4, however LB has the same positional value as RB (contract value wise) and this is a historically good LB class through Day 2. Drafting Styles at 4 would actually be worse value than Love at 4 because of the opportunity cost of drafting a viable LB starter at 35 or 66 for significantly less. There isn't that opportunity at RB in this draft.

I normally would agree but I think that position is just so important in this specific defense that it makes it valuable enough to use a top 10 pick on if the player is a truly great prospect. Which I think Styles is.

or the flip side is that Saleh routinely gets insane LB play out of guys taken lower in the draft like Warner and Bethune. So if you know thats the case why invest so heavily in LB early on when it can be used elsewhere?

Taking Styles would allow Gray to slot into that WLB role. Probably a more natural position for him and allow him to play to his strengths by attacking downhill more.

I love Styles.  I like him over Love too. He is a perfect scheme FIT for Saleh's prototype backer in the middle.
