My thoughts.   I post infrequently nowadays but do want to do so tonight.  I have vacillated with each new entry into the HC/OC sweepstakes.  I studied what I could with available data on ea

FWIW on F Words Zach Lyons just said he heard the interview between McDaniel and the Titans went “very well”.

Good to see zero mention of Bryce Wasserman being involved.

yeah who the fuck is that guy and how did he get that title?

Basically in college or an intern for nearly a decade and for his first ever job was staff council ... in under 2 years he became the director of football operations.

Is he AAS fuckboi? What the hell?

Or you could hire who you think are going to be the best coaches. Retreads fail too.

While my favorite candidate atm is saleh, i agree on the principle that you hire you think has the highest ceiling not the highest floor.

4 OCs is comically low.

Local media is all in on trying to get a DC again because they miss Vrabel so hard.

There's certainly going to be college HCs getting looked at.

Reread the section on if a team is participating in the postseason. Coaches on teams with a bye can interview next week. If their team is playing in the wildcard round, then 3 days after the game.

That's first interview.

To me it sounds mostly like the cupboard is just bare because everyone has been hiring offensive guys.

Idk if any of them have outright said they want a defensive guy.

More from Breer here pointing again that experience may win out.

The Titans’ ongoing restructure of their front office positions places GM Mike Borgonzi as a key figure in the Tennessee search.

Their plan is to set forth with a broad base of candidates, with former head coaches like Matt Nagy, Vance Joseph and Robert Saleh expected to get interviews, and first-timers like Rams DC Chris Shula and Packers DC Jeff Hafley slated to, as well. That said, there is some belief that the Titans might lean on experience in the wake of the Brian Callahan hire not working out, and Borgonzi has very strong ties to Nagy.

Borgonzi will lead a process that will involve president of football operations Chad Brinker, assistant GM Dave Ziegler, VP/football adviser Reggie McKenzie and VP of player personnel Dan Saganey for the first round, over Zoom, with owner Amy Adams Strunk likely to meet the finalists for the in-person round. —A.B.

I'll never forget how hard they cucked for Vrabel the week they came to town. Despicable pieces of shit. They don't deserve an audience.

The thing they mostly outright said is their process/what they were looking for was correct last time.

That process included hiring an offensive minded HC to maintain the relationship with the young QB... what else would they be talking about?

They also said early on that they werent hiring an outside firm.  But pretty sure they also said they did hire someone to do a deep dive on finding candidates that may not be apparent right away... that tells me college coaches are in play. We here can find pretty much all the NFL coaches. All of that also leads me to believe they want to find an Offensive HC - and to your point the cupboard is bare, so they may need help looking and the biggest pool is college coaches.
