They could do every motion in the book and it’s still gonna be called a buddy buddy hire.

Right , it doesn’t matter if he is hired .  It’s still buddy /buddy no matter how much you try to gloss it up.

And most teams have been doing the first guy in becomes the HC and don’t even bother with another guy.  And I don’t see them wasting Saleh’s time like this.

My thoughts.   I post infrequently nowadays but do want to do so tonight.  I have vacillated with each new entry into the HC/OC sweepstakes.  I studied what I could with available data on ea

FWIW on F Words Zach Lyons just said he heard the interview between McDaniel and the Titans went “very well”.

Its not fooling anyone though. At this point if they hire anyone beside nagy idk if any will give borgo credit or say he caved to fan pressure. If it works out that is.

It's not fooling someone like you and I or anyone on this website. But the average Titans fan don't know any of the HC candidates. Therefore Borgo can and will get away with this hire if it's Humpty Dumpty Nagy

Meaning you think they’ll cancel with Saleh? Or that you think it’s legit.

Some interesting things if they do go Saleh.

He really doesn’t lack potential OC candidates:

Could go with experience and someone he could just hand the offense over to if he wants (and some who already interviewed with the team):

Mike McDaniel

Matt Nagy

Brian Daboll

Art Smith

Kliff Kingsbury

Or reach into the bevy of his connections for OC or various staff roles:

Mike LaFleur

Bobby Slowik

Klay Kubiak (unlikely as talked about)

Rob Calabrese

Chris Forester

John Benton

Jon Embree and Eric Studesville would be great potential additions from the Miami staff that could lend a lot of experience, guidance, and support of the offense.

I think it’s legit.  Why would you even bother moving it up to Monday and in person and flying the guy in if he has no shot ?

Anyone checked in on that guy that tracks planes to see if AAS has sent her plane to San Francisco to pick Saleh up.

Borg is a shitty GM then. Good talent scout bad GM. If It's Nagy then fuck it. Jaguars will win a SB before the Titans do. Clippers will become an NBA Dynasty before the Titans are relevant again if Nagy is the hire and Borg is fired in a year.

I wonder how much money it might take to make a Saleh + McDaniel team happen here.

Chip Kelly's deal with the Raiders was $6M to be their OC, which is supposedly the most in league history, but I'm assuming it would have to be more than that to get McDaniel to turn down any HC offers. McDaniel was making around $4M in Miami.

Anyone know how many years McDaniel had left on his Dolphins contract because anything he gets as an OC would just be an offset on that amount till the length of that contract expires.

The Dolphins will be hoping McDaniel gets a HC gig but if not he gets very well compensated as an OC.
