Whatever he wanted. And then he would be the most coveted HC candidate next year and we missed him for the dumbest fucking reasons.

"His personality is weird and quirky" is not a reason not to hire someone.

My thoughts.   I post infrequently nowadays but do want to do so tonight.  I have vacillated with each new entry into the HC/OC sweepstakes.  I studied what I could with available data on ea

FWIW on F Words Zach Lyons just said he heard the interview between McDaniel and the Titans went “very well”.

I'm just saying from a football standpoint it's a bad job.

I like the new well-regarded GM and the owner is top notch there. To me, that's a football consideration. But yes, the roster and the QB are a problem in the immediate term.

And it has been pointed out that the weather isn’t a real factor at all.

You also made this point about Harbaugh and he didn’t even consider them.

I think weather could be a factor depending on your position.  If you're a speedy wideout, you may not want 8 games outside in Green Bay when 4 of those may be super cold and lead to injury or mitigating your speed.  Miami would be ideal for a speedy guy.

Yeah, I made the point for in the event they hired Chad Alexander as GM, which they didn't.

And that was before Harbaugh in particular said he wanted a QB in place right now.

Tua will be gone in 2027 and the new coach will have a hand in picking the next QB......

With Harbaugh, he is 63 and wanted the QB in place right now.

Hint....there is no assurance Miami gets a franchise Qb in 2027.  They are in QB purgatory along with several other teams and a bad existing contract to deal with.  Having a hand in selecting the next QB doesn't mean anything if you can't find one.

Taxes also play a role, although probably lesser the to players than coaches...because players tend to be retarded on these things and listen to their agents, who get their % off the top rather than worrying about taxes the player will pay.  Pujols would have taken home far more money staying in STL than by signing with the Angels, but because the contract was about 50 million more, the agent convinced him to go to a place that essentially ruined his career.

He would have gotten the Yadi treatment and they would have managed him better in terms of spacing out his playing time and just transitioning him to a part time guy.  He became a joke in LAA the last part.  It’s sad really.  The STL portion he’s basically a top 50 all time player.  It’s sad that it’s a little forgotten.

Compelling argument. McCarthy has had a year to self reflect and recharge as well. I want him over Nagy all day long.

I mean, if they were willing to strongly consider Harbaugh who is 63, no reason they shouldn't strongly consider McCarthy who is a year younger.

That's all I'm trying to say.

Also, Ross has fired a coach after one year.  Remember Cam Cameron?

He’s the last guy they interview in person if that means anything.  Outside of the Giants I don’t think he interviewed anywhere else. And he’s clearly not interviewing for a possible OC job.
