There are different leadership types and different ways to lead. It’s not all cut and dry. 

He got fired because he failed. His style goes against the grain. Remember Ran mentions about sleeping on the plain? I'm not saying I disagree with McDaniel's style, I'm speculating that AAS and Borgonzi will. Brinker, Borgonzi, Nihil all exude professionalism. 

 

McDaniel has a casual appearance, looks like he's wearing fucking pajamas half the time. His delivery at press is weird, to say the least, sometimes aloof. 

 

On top of all that, you have Shanahan offense and Cosell saying it might not be the best fit for Ward.

McDaniel- reportedly is obssessed with football.  Sleeping on the plane was not about style or professonalism. It was about him not being all about football all the time.  That is not an issue with McDaniel

All that aside, just grading him on performance, you gotta understand that he failed. And we do NOT yet know whether Cam is a better QB than Tua. We certainly hope, but don't really know. I'd give it a coin flip at this point.
