My thoughts.   I post infrequently nowadays but do want to do so tonight.  I have vacillated with each new entry into the HC/OC sweepstakes.  I studied what I could with available data on ea

FWIW on F Words Zach Lyons just said he heard the interview between McDaniel and the Titans went “very well”.

Personally, I don’t think McCarthy is interviewing here.

Same. It would've already happened imo

Huh? Did you watch them this year? They had Daniels for 4 games, McLaurin missed half the season, Brown the whole season, and Deebo had a heel injury that impacted him all year. and yet they were still 4th in rushing and put up points with Mariota.

I watched his career in Arizona and in college.

This is a direct counter to what @OILERMAN posted though. Because if you are what your record says you are then Garrett should be a top tier candidate as should McCarthy. They aren't.

My point is, they should probably be considered as better candidates than the credit they are getting because they've shown that they can be part of a successful program. There will always be context and that context should always be considered but, historically, a coach who has struggled in one spot is not likely to become great in another spot. A coach who has shown they can be part of a winning program certainly isn't guaranteed success at the next stop but their chances of success seem to be proportionally greater statistically speaking. Just my two cents on the topic regardless of how you want to interpret it.

What are your overall thoughts on Kingsbury's offense? Been reading more about it.

I’ve been saying for months I think it’s the other way around lol Brinker was there when it ended for McCarthy. There was a lot of negative reports about him after he was gone. Like how he skipped meetings to get massages and what not.

Yep, I would tend to agree here. Brinker was a lower level scout until 2018 when he was with GB at the same time as McCarthy. He stepped into the Assistant director of pro scouting/salary cap analyst role in 2018, so about 10 months before McCarthy was fired, but I don't think Brinker and McCarthy really formally worked all that much with each other in their time there, so yeah it would be more about what Brinker saw McCarthy do in his time there.

Again, remember McCarthy did take some time off after getting fired and had to re-calibrate how he did things before getting the Cowboys job.

If you go by the college offense version, he never really had a running QB. Some of his QBs were Baker Mayfield, Davis Webb, Patrick Mahomes, etc. That would make sense stylistically for Ward and if he is able top pair that with a good running game as he has developed with Washington, then I don't see many negatives to him being OC. Only issue is he is likely gone within two years IF we do have success.
