 Browns: Ball Knowers

To my eye, they may be looking for an OC for Schwartz or another defensive guy they have their eye on.

My thoughts.   I post infrequently nowadays but do want to do so tonight.  I have vacillated with each new entry into the HC/OC sweepstakes.  I studied what I could with available data on ea

FWIW on F Words Zach Lyons just said he heard the interview between McDaniel and the Titans went “very well”.

"While the Titans could focus on offense-minded head coach candidates due to the need to develop Cam Ward, Tennessee is legitimately intrigued by a handful of defense-oriented candidates, too. San Francisco's Robert Saleh is one. Rams defensive coordinator Chris Shula is another. The Titans will be open-minded, knowing they can pair a defensive head coach with a strong, established offensive playcaller. Some of the candidates to interview for the head coaching position could become coordinator options, too. Landing a strong staff for the head coach is paramount for Tennessee's new front office."

Maybe I’m naive and putting too much faith in the FO, but I still believe they’ve had a plan this entire time and the guy they’re targeting is still in the playoffs. The guys they’re interviewing now are for other roles on the staff or intel.

This is the smart and rational way to look at it.

They are likely looking at some of these other guys as OC, DC, Associate/Assistant HC to put around a younger coach if that is the way they end up deciding to go.

I think that’s an oversimplification. They started running the ball lol I don’t think they dumbed things down in terms of passing concepts or his checks at the line.

Thats anecdotal eye evidence though. Maybe they ran a few more boots and screens than before.

12 personnel (and I think the announcers in last game said JC went a month without penalty)

Yeah but I wouldn’t qualify that as a simplification of the offense.

I still think Saleh could put together a really strong staff, with Nagy as OC, and he will be a finalist imo

I have a slight preference for Saleh over Stefanski, but I like both. Still not sold on Shula, but he is a legitimate candidate for the Titans.

I was agreeing with you and adding 12 personnel in with the boots and other stuff. I don't think for a second that they needed to "simplify" anything for Cam. He seemed in full control and fully prepared. What he needed was protection.

I do hope that the next coach instills some speed. I don't think he has processing issues though.
