My thoughts.   I post infrequently nowadays but do want to do so tonight.  I have vacillated with each new entry into the HC/OC sweepstakes.  I studied what I could with available data on ea

FWIW on F Words Zach Lyons just said he heard the interview between McDaniel and the Titans went “very well”.

Saleh tumbling down the odds. Want nothing to do with Art Smith, Joe Brady, Kliff Kingsbury, or Steve Sarkisian.

These match the live odds I'm posting now - and I peeked at them yesterday, when McCarthy was +175 and Nagy was +300, so those two are taking turns being the frontrunner.  Ready for the interview process to begin, lfg!  I don't care who they hire, just fuckin' get it right this time!

Out of curiosity, who would excite people?  Generally head coaches available come in one of two categories:

1. Up and coming coordinators of a successful side of the football, normally someone younger but without head coaching experience.

2. A previously fired head coach.

It's the same with some exceptions every year.  For the first group, you're not a good head coach until you are.  For every Sean McVay and Ben Johnson there's an Adam Gase or a Brian Callahan.  And eventually they'll likely at some point be in the second group.  You just have to trust that Borgonzi and Brinker know that they're doing and will hire the right guy.

I’ll trust whoever they hire as a head coach if it’s an experienced guy. I just hope they hire a young offensive guy to coordinate the offense with assurance he’s next in line to get ahead of the next upcoming wave. I kind of have a hunch that’s the plan based on nothing.

I'd say Kafka or Shula, although I'd love to see Chucky just for the drama.

Harbaugh would be my favorite if he becomes available.  I just think for as much as I hate the ratbirds, they are too smart to fire him over one bad season.

What has Kafka done to excite you?  By all accounts he's been terrible with NYG.

Yall do realize that Nagy article is likely bought and paid for PR right?

I can write down all my mistakes in life too and maybe life will give me a restart as a multibillionaire with a harem of bisexual Hawaiian Tropics models.

Yeah.  I’m shocked here that some people bought it.

Every year some retread coach says some variation on this.  How they didn’t expect the job to be this difficult or enormous etc and how they will learn from their mistakes the first time around .

Bought what? You think the article is based on lies or something or that Dan Pompei is reporting mistruths?

It’s pretty obvious that coaches would tend to be better their second time around with additional experience. It will be the same for Saleh, Arthur Smith, etc.

Obviously it’s a PR fluff piece (DUH!) that Nagy and his agent sourced and it also contains a lot of good information, including that Nagy won’t be calling plays like he did previously. Which is an important piece of information, considering that play calling is his main weakness.
