Ed Policy is the new president(2025 July)  of the Packers, and he’s apparently the one behind the Micah Parsons trade.. Clearly he has decided the Packers are going to be more aggressive in chasing a Super Bowl.. LaFleur has just 1 year left on his contract, so this situation bares watching..

"Ed Policy".

This is one of those situations where a guy named like Shoemaker becomes a shoemaker.

Albert Breer has a few nuggets here about the HC search and some of the analytical studies the team is already undertaking about varying success rates of second time HC and coordinators with more than

It is becoming really annoying how some people are using bad result as an excuse to paint the last HC hiring process as a sham. Facts are Callahan was an in demand candidate during that hiring cycle e

Callahan was a great "candidate" and a terrible head coach.

Based on all of the trades and player/ playcalling changes around the deadline, there is quite a bit of pressure on certain teams to win a SB now: My list of teams feeling the heat includes Dallas, Buffalo, Detroit, Green Bay, Baltimore, LA Rams, San Francisco, and possibly Cincinnati.. the expression that relates is " If not now, when?"..

I'm not sure I get all the love for LaFleur. I'm not saying he's a bad coach. I actually think Green Bay's problems are more QB related than HC related. But at the same time I'm not seeing that he's done anything special that makes him more desirable than some of the other top candidates.

Except he's taken a small market team with limited resources and an unusual business structure to the playoffs yearly.  A draft and develop team until recently, but maybe that's changing.

His tenure looks very similar to Mike McCarthy's tenure before him. Again...not bad...even good overall. But nothing that makes me think he's a slam dunk.

Calling greenbay a small market team is kinda like calling walmart a small town business because it started in shitsville Arkansas

Of all the candidates out there who aren’t currently a head coach Brian Flores would be my choice.  His teams were always competitive in Miami even when the talent may not have been there.  I heard he was difficult (not a player’s coach) but I think after the Callahan experience they may need that.

So he maintained the status quo while having a great Gm and personnel team pick the players? And WTF is this small market nonsense? This isn't baseball.

They likely have one of the 5 largest fan bases in the nfl. The fact the city they play in is small is rather pointless

My comment re: small market , (as per Wikipedia they are the "last of the small market teams"), perhaps I should have said "They have no wealthy owner" because they are a community owned non-profit team..My perception is that they have been a draft and develop team out of economic necessity, but with the Parson's signing perhaps that is changing.
