We’re three games in. I don’t think he’s regressing

Hes just playing really badly

there's thingentioned that we're good in the preseason and first game that are regressing worse and worse each week. Particularly his footwork, pocket panic and timing. Cosell mentions it so don't blame the messenger.

Dike should play Ridley's spot of course, with Restrepo in the slot.    They literally have nothing to lose at this point.

It's too bad they couldn't work things out with Tart. Tart at his best is better than anything Sweat has shown and they could have taken the Rams trade.

There's an uneven amount of blame placed on Robinson than the people running the team for the past 3 years- as you just demonstrated.   Only 1 of those draft classes has players on their rookie contracts.  You're blaming Robinson for not making the job of his successors easy by teeing up players for them to resign, when the blame should be on the guys who chose to give big contracts to Cushenberry, Sneed, Moore, and Ridley.

Brewer and Tart are currently in the top 10 of their respective positions per PFF.  Landry is playing really well.  Henry is self explanatory. There are several other former Robinson-era Titans starting elsewhere.  There were vets to hold down certain positions while they worked out the rest of the roster - that's exactly what Robinson did. They even had a solid HC. Instead they jettisoned these guys and replaced most of them with much more expensive, worse players and a horrible HC.  And so far, they have managed to fill 1 hole from the Robinson era with a solid, dependable player - a guard. That's how a 7 win roster becomes the worst in the league.

It’s very tough to argue most of this. It’s pretty much spot on.

Obviously the AJB trade was a disaster of epic  proportions though I still maintain Burks constant injuries really  amplified it & he was a talented guy.  But moving on from that you’re right. I don’t know if it’s a coaching thing or lack of understanding their own talent but like you said numerous players excelled elsewhere. It’s so numerous you actually left a few out. Kevin Byard is still a top safety. I don’t know what he’s doing this year but Kristian Fulton had a good year at corner for Harbaugh last year along with Elijah Molden who had an excellent year with the Chargers.  I personally hated trading him. LOL even Jamal Adam is apparently playing for Pete Carroll….

None of this true.

Right - Byard leads the NFL in INTs.

The Cushenberry/Brewer situation is especially egregious. I'm not sure that I've ever seen a team incorrectly identify a hole in their roster and spend top positional money to fix it, only for their previous starter to play at a high level elsewhere and for the new guy to be mediocre.  It shows a serious issue with talent evaluation and/or coaching.  I'm not sure if we can dismiss it as a Carthon problem, as his boss is still here and we're seeing something similar with Moore.

There's nothing for you to argue with.  There are 10-11 players from the Robinson era starting here or elsewhere.  The team was better when they were all here, and the replacements for his guys overall have been bad.

Worst case scenario is BC winning a few games to save his job. If you want to win a Super Bowl in the next 20 years, this team needs to bottom out again this year. If we can land #1 and have the ability to move down, picking up a ton of picks, along with $150M in cap and a new HC (and Cam)… we will be in a great spot.

Byard has some INTs but has been terrible in coverage since he was traded

Brewer is the perfect example of why PFF grades suck. His issues in pass protection are mitigated by Tua getting the ball out fast and the offense he plays in

Molden still sucks and can't cover for shit. He's basically a run defender for the Chargers playing with way better players around him

Fulton LMAO

You can make the argument the coaching sucks without having to invent some narrative guys who are playing elsewhere are better than they were here. Its not the simple but for someone who misuses stats all the time,  I can see why you think that.

Better be fucking Restrepo and not Proche

Not going to lie, no issues if they sat Lockett and gave Dike or Restrepo a chance. Of course you know Restrepo can't replace Ridley in this offense....

I think you're both somewhat right. He's right that the players we let go are largely outperforming the guys we've brought in to replace them. You're right that he's over-stating their "success". The reality is that we somehow managed to replace average to below average players with bad players and it's contributing to our problems.

Tbh, seeing all 3 rookie wrs out there at the same time would be the most interesting thing i can think of for this team. Even if it is completely trash, who would care? Nothing to lose

At this point my fun is more important than watching bums under the pretense of "trying to win". Bring on the rookies.
