I just think Ward needs stability. You can fire Callahan but we'd still be running his offense. The OC is essentially an extension of BC. Good luck finding a quality HC after all the firings over the last 2 years. Callahan deserves to at least finish the season.

As much as I hate what I'm seeing, contunuity with Ward's development is the paramount concern right now. Maybe Titans brass see more hope for doing that in firing him. I guess we'll see. Even if Callahan does improve, who knows if it'll be enough to save his job.

But I don't even think "in game management" is going to take precedence over Ward. Whatever the path forward that gives him the best chance for progress is the path they'll take. And that may or may not necessarily be firing Callahan, which is probably @Pragidealist's point.

I don’t think Callahan can call plays and manage a game. He hasn’t proven he can do either much less both. Something needs to change. He looks a like deer caught in headlights. He is conservative when

That's not why. It leaves the coordinators in place and causes the least disruption until they can hire a HC in the offseason

That's the biggest risk. If you fire Brian, Bill's gone and now you've got a gotdamn debacle.

We're in a real pickle.

Not really at all. They have a decent Asst OL coach in Scott Fuchs who can step in for Bill Callahan. They also have Matt Jones who has been essentially another assistant OL coach as well on staff.

Mike McCoy and Beau Haragree can handle the OC and QB Coaching just fine as well since both have experience calling plays.

Good to know. I was already squarely in the fire him boat, but this put a turbo on the motor. Fire this weak asshole into the sun. Complete embarrassment.

He is conservative when he should be aggressive and the opposite is true too. So if he isn’t going to get fired, someone else needs to call the plays.  Maybe he can manage the game without play calling though I have my doubts.

Yeah, I'd like to see another playcaller before upending the staff.

Stillman was speculating pretty heavily on his podcast tonight he thinks there is a 55% chance Callahan is fired tomorrow. I know he’s a blowhard, but he’s got someone in the building that leaked the Vrabel AND Ran firings to him ahead of time.

PK went the other way in his post game article saying inside the building at this early stage they are not going to make a determination on Callahan's future.

Interesting. They both suck. But the night before Ran got fired PK said he would be back and Stillman was adamant he was out. Either way, this sucks.

I hope the next guy is the right guy.

I also wonder how much say/sway Ward has. I know he's not going to have a lot of cache at this point, and he'd emphasize that building a team is above his pay grade, but he at least publicly had coach's back. If he wants Callahan here how much would the brass listen?
