  1. 1. Who would you pick to replace him?

    • Jesse Minter, current Chargers DC
    • Joe Brady, current Bills OC
    • Kliff Kingsbury, current Commanders OC
    • Promote Dennard Wilson
    • Some up and coming college coach
    • Other NFL coach

Hopefully Callahan turns it around soon and it doesn’t come to that.

We fucked up when we hired Vrabel as HC over Lafleur. Imagine how different things would have been if we didnt make that mistake.

Someone that knows the general rules

I think Detroit takes it all unless Philly gets crazy hot. IMO they dominated Baltimore and the score didn't reflect it.

Detroit and the Ravens were the two best teams last year for the majority of the season. You never know in the postseason

A healthy Aiden Hutchinson changes the math greatly IMO. The secondary also looks a little stronger with Arnold starting to guy his stride at CB. They're just such a well-balanced team/roster.

Lots of injuries and fortunes will change before the postseason

But I agree the Lions look good

I thought the Ravens and Bills were up there but their defenses are weak and the Ravens have butterfingers

I think you go in house and go with McCoy (best option to not remove the coordinators from their daily responsibilities, but truly majority of everyone needs to go), Fassel (has been in the position before and would fully understand its not an audition), or Horton (it would be an audition but likely for other teams-- finishing with 5-6 wins probably gets him head coaching looks).

Hate to say it like this, but Horton as interim satisfies Rooney rule requirements and if he leaves to take an actual head position then it will result in a much needed 3rd round pick.

Some may think McCarthy as an option. And if hes the guy that we absolutely want then there's no real downside in bringing him in, but I think the cleaner option is just seeing what we got on both the staff and roster. We will have 13 games to fully know what we're doing this offseason.

Coming into the season, I said that Brian Callahan deserves through 2026. That was before the abortion that was the Denver game, the missed challenge, the excessive penalties, and watching this team suck at every facet. The players have quit on him and his tenure does mirror what came out about Bill at the end of his time at Nebraska.

Callahan and his dad need to go. Mike McCoy or whoever takes over is not going to magically fix all our problems, but I think they can put us in a better place moving forward and it will be cathartic to rip the band aid off. Get a head start on putting the list together of every coach you want to meet with.

Mike McCarthy, Todd Monken, Jim Schwartz, Brian Flores, Jeff Hafley, Matt Nagy, Arthur Smith, Joe Brady, and Jesse Minter are the top names I’m looking at.

McCarthy, Monken, Hafley, and Minter are my top 4

I don’t think another first-time head coach is the right move here. With this roster, experience matters more than upside. A proven “retread” might not sound exciting, but we need someone who can walk in on Day 1, command the room, set a culture, and motivate players who’ve already been through the ups and downs of a rebuild.

Yes, some people will argue that first-timers bring fresh ideas and energy. But we just lived through that experiment — and it failed. At this point, stability and leadership are more valuable than rolling the dice again.

Look at the Commanders. Most of this board laughed when they hired Dan Quinn, another so-called retread. But now, given how quickly he’s turned things around, I’d bet a lot of us would welcome Quinn as our head coach today.

Bottom line: the rebuild stage we’re in demands a coach who’s been there before. We can’t afford another “learning on the job” situation.

By Horton...do you mean Wilson?

That's why I think McCarthy is a serious option. May not be the dream guy, but likely case is he stabilizes the ship and makes us look like a professional organization again. Once we're back on the right track we can have the conversation then if hes capable of taking us to the championship level.. but as of now, we got to just get back to being competitive and looking like a professional club.

Yep we just need our Mularkey Part 2. Get us back to a level of respectability and go from there.
