Maybe they should let a healthy Sneed following a healthy, if limited TC, hit the field before decicing to cast him off for squat; and I'm as frustrated as anyone with this situation. You can't just throw away invested draft capital because you're pissed at a particular player.

Trends becoming clear after Ward:

  • They will draft at least two WR's.
    • Likely one on Day 2, one day 3, and will sign multiple PFAs at the position.
    • Will likely bring in at least one WR who has ties to Ward (Kyle Williams, Xavier Restrepo, Sam Brown Jr., Jacolby George)
  • Will draft a DL and a CB sometime Day 3
  • Unless last seven 30 Visits includes several EDGE players, it would seem they will draft one in Day 3 unless someone falls to 35.
  • They will draft a RB day 3.

With multiple defensive front players (Day, Jones, Key, Carter) set to hit free agency in 2026, they need multiple picks to prepare for next year and improve the run defense.

What Cam really needs is another vet NFL starter at WR who has proven he can play in the league.  Doesn't have to be a star, just a reliable #2 or #3.

I would expect them to draft an edge guy by the latest in the fourth.  They just know they have to get someone who can play in the rotation in their rookie year .

Vet WR in FA isn’t bad at all : Cooper, Keenan Allen , Elijah Moore, Lockett , Agahlor, Dionte Johnson ( they probably won’t sign him).

I'm guessing we chase a WR in 2/3 depending g on trade and 5/6. Probably Kyle Williams (also ties to our OC) and then a prototypical X size & speed guy later. I also think we go after a FA Wr.

edge would need to be drafted 2-4 as well

We've only been saying that for 4 months

Oilerman disagrees and thinks we'll draft only 1 WR.  He also thinks that Callahan may be kept around for years for the benefit of Ward.  I will be pissed if he's right about both.

I could see 2 WR's possible.  Williams did play X in college FWIW.

Yeah true, and I think he can do it in the pros..  but our "big" WRs are Burks, Dowell, and Tre Martin. There's a need for going after the typical X prototype IMO. Our Tee Higgins.

Edge and WR are same in terms of they will draft someone with a higher floor first who can contribute and then take an upside/traits guy with a later pick.

They also need a speed WR that they have been talking about adding for years .  I guess Jackson could be that guy but they seemed to have drafted him for ST purposes.

They probably need to trade down at least once to get : 2 WR, 2 edge, one G, one IDL, one S.  Not sure how they view the other remaining positions.

Edit: CB is more likely to be picked than S, just based on meetings.

Fixed it for you. Whomever they add has to be proven and reliable, not to mention, better than Van Jefferson, IMO. Otherwise you’re likely just clogging the depth with more waste, as in, they’re not going to be consistently productive for you.
