Even neurodivergent people are capable of being aware of who they surrounded themselves with, what they share, and what they do on stage. His lack of social cues means he might just not have the context to avoid expressing himself in a way that signals how he really feels. It's obvious where he stands. With that said, I think it was more of a planted Nazi salute to draw attention than was it just a heartfelt Nazi salute (it was obviously a Nazi salute). It's a classic Trump World media control tactic where you pick something "meaningless" for people to get mad at and discuss, then you provoke that discussion because you know you're generally safe within it ... and then there's far less air time for people to discuss the things you don't want them discussing.
