Love Burrow but lets be honest he has not had the impact in Cincy that he should have and that is because they have not fixed their OL since he got there.

Where would they be now if they had drafted Andrew Thomas and an inferior QB?

And fuck ESPN and the NFLN you pricks can't go to a commercial before the #1 pick.

Let us old-school football guys take a moment appreciate to the fact that the Titans earned the #1 overall pick the old-fashioned way.   Not by tanking or by trading up, but by simply being

I'd hate Hunter. The Titans best position is likely CB and you don't take a WR that high. If the Titans traded down to 3 and Carter went 2 I'd rather trade down again and maybe go for someone like Mem

-Titans draft Cam Ward 1 overall.

-Titans trade Jeff Simmons, Harold Landry, and L'Jarius Sneed plus a 4th next year to the Patriots for their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd this year, their 1st next year, and their 2nd or 3rd in 2027.

-Titans then draft Abdul Carter at 4, draft BPA at OL with first 2nd, either draft someone like Tre Amos with the 2nd two or trade back, take BPA DL, and fill out the roster as needed/BPA with the rest.

Yay? Nay?

What in the fuck madden franchise shit are you talking about

Something I just threw together:   a spreadsheet of every OL draft pick from 2018-2024.   (No particular reason for starting at 2018....but you gotta start somewhere.  I figure 7 draft classes provides a reasonably accurate overview.)

It shows

  • how many total draft picks each team has used on OL over the past 7 years
  • the average draft slot # of each team's OL picks.   (lower# = higher pick)
  • the number of OL each team has drafted in each round

I also added a field showing each team's OL picks in rounds 1-3, to show which teams are inclined to use premium picks and which teams typically wait until the later rounds.

This was literally a 20-minute exercise I put together on the fly.....so it's incredibly simple and highly flawed:   just a very basic, no-frills overview of each NFL team's draft investment in OL over the past seven years.    But the top-ten and bottom-ten results are rather interesting.

Based on the number of picks and the average value of those picks,  here are the ten teams that have made biggest OL investment since 2018:

No QB until the OL is fixed.  You need a OG and RT.  Those are the biggest needs.  the LOS is where games are won and lost and not on the QB.  The SB just gave this lesson again.  KC last two losses in the SB were due to the OL.  https://www.espn.com/nfl/draft2025/insider/story/_/id/43171016/2025-nfl-draft-board-prospects-first-round-grades-comps

There are a lot of worse outcomes to a season than losing the SB because of a sub par  OL.

Yeah , they keep on drafting these qbs with massive red flags that aren’t even lottery tickets , in that they are almost destined to fail.  That’s the problem with the let’s draft a qb in round 1 every year.

What are Ward's red flags? I'm asking serioulsy, from everything I've seen his intangibles and work ethic are off the chart, he has enough physical ability and has made some elite throws. I'm not saying he doesn't have warts, just saying his floor is mid to top ten level starter and his ceiling is top 7 or 8. Mariota was soft both mentally and as it turned out physically.

Misses easy throws where the guy is wide open and the pass is inaccurate.  Happens more than once a game.

Hero ball tendencies for lack of a better term, that leads to some really awful Levis level turnovers.

issues on on throws near/outside the hash mark.  You can tell the throws aren’t as crisp there, especially when you watch his throws over the middle.

His arm is not that great so outside the numbers he is very mediocre.  He does not have a good base and his footwork is slopy and he offers very little in escapability.  I think Drew Brees was a better prosepct when he came out and he fell all the way to round two.  He panned out but his first contract in the league was shown the door and he had elite talent around him.

The majority of this is simply lack of polish.  Consistent accuracy will come with improved mechanics.  And we should hope that his NFL positional coaches are 10x better and more focused on this than any collegiate coach he's had.

He had a higher Big Time Throw % than Mahomes on plays lasting longer than 2.5 second, and lower overall Turnover worthy throw %.  So the "hero ball" thing is overblown.  Mahomes and other great QBs have ugly moments where they look like Levis as well (see the SB).  Levis is Levis not just because of these plays but because overall, he is not good.

Umm... what's the deal with the 2nd paragraph?

Weaknesses

Never had completion rate higher than 56 percent in either season as a starter. Accuracy diminishes greatly when he's forced to move his feet. May have too much hero in his blood. Tries to overcome obstacles with arm talent and makes poor decisions because of it. Takes too many chances with low percentage throws. Needs to play smarter and place higher value on the ball. Fastball pitcher whose touch could use improvement short. Will baby the deep throws at times. Field-reading is spotty. Needs to be more patient in allowing combo routes to develop. Would benefit by trading some velocity for better timing. Anticipatory throws don't seem to come naturally. Pre-snap game plan appears unfocused. Breaks from pocket without cause throwing off his timing with receivers. Doesn't keep feet "throw-ready" when sliding in pocket. Frequently defaults to off-platform throws when there is time to set feet and deliver.
