If you grade out either of these guys then you take them regardless of the prospective haul. That's how important the position is. Mythos27

TheBukafax
What’s worse drafting a bust or passing on a guy who becomes top tier?

Clearly drafting a bust because you would have nothing to show for the #1 pick. rns90

Probably a bust because that usually doesn't get resolved quickly where as passing over a guy doesn't stop you from other options, although the constant reminder as he succeeds would suck. It’s a crapshoot whether or not these guys develop. You just kind of fall into them . The drafting though is a different type of hell that could have been avoided. So hypothetically speaking, did drafting Davis or not drafting Mahomes hurt more? Its a ridiculous exercise because you could go through almost every draft class and find a QB they should of taken regardless of whether they were in on that class or not. They were so far out on that particular QB class they reportedly had parameters of a trade deal agreed with the Chiefs to allow them to come up to get Mahomes had JRob decided he wanted to trade out (reported by Peter King in his MMQB column)
