I'm totally fine with the Titans drafting Ward. Enough people think he can be good and he's shown enough NFL traits. It would not be like the Titans overdrafting Anthony Richardson or Trey Lance.

Seemed like an odd flex.  You could look at WSU tape in a Power conference for stuff far more relevant.

It sounds like it will come down to how truly desperate the Giants get. But if they are indeed in love with him/his potential/are worried about their futures (which, if fired...means, neither will be around/have to endure the future loss of the picks anyway) it's anyone's guess at this point...

According to a mock draft produced by Bruce Feldman of The Athletic that was published on Wednesday, the Giants would take Miami's Cam Ward over Sanders if Big Blue instead of the Tennessee Titans possessed the first choice of the upcoming player-selection process.

"I’ve heard since bowl season from folks inside the Miami program that the New York Giants love Ward," Feldman wrote, "but the Titans have a big need too and won’t pass on the 2024 ACC Player of the Year."

It was reported in late March that the Titans want three first-round picks "or something of that value" to give up the right to select Ward. As of the first Wednesday of April, neither the Giants nor any other club was expected to match that asking price.

"No way they are not picking Ward," one unnamed team executive said about the Titans during a recent chat with The Athletic's Mike Sando. "They are trying to drum up an extraordinary deal, but no one is going to give that. They will take Cam Ward unless someone gives them something stupid."

Shawn King has nailed QB evals the last few years and said Brian Thomas would be the best WR last season. He raves about Cam Ward

The hype died down noticeably when the topic turned to Shedeur.

The thing is, if he weren't Deion Sanders son and he didn't seem like a chip off thay block the early 2nd round grade on him wouldn't seem like such a "disappointing" grade. There's nothing written in stone that says Shedeur won't or can't improve and become a top 10 QB. But the idea of drafting him in the top 10 is ridiculous.

Does anyone know for sure the Titans have demanded "3 1sts"? And if they are so convinced of Ward's abilities why would that offer even move them?

Would the Titans be stupid if someone offered that and they rejected it?

That’s the conundrum.  If someone offers that, it means they feel Ward is good enough to warrant it.  If he’s good enough to warrant it, wouldn’t it be better to just take the player?   It’s a pointless cycle of trying to analyze which FO is smarter.  “He’s likely to bust so obviously you take the picks” vs “It was a no brainer to trade a few firsts for the face of the franchise”

No one is right until the player succeeds or fails.   And someone is going to look like the idiot.  That’s why more often than not, if a team needs a QB, they take the QB.   It buys coaches time (generally).  It generates clicks and fan interest and ticket sales.  And it’s just easier to sell hope when your franchise looks like it’s committed to a new face.  It kinda is what it is - you need a QB, you take the QB.   Assuming he checks the boxes.

And national consensus seems to be catching up that Ward does indeed check all the boxes.   Just a few weeks ago the narrative was he’d be QB 5-7 in last years class.  That narrative started falling apart once more people started actually studying him.   The big national narratives are generally a week or two behind what is actually happening and Ward’s draft stock is already skyrocketing. Wasn’t long ago that a lot of people actually thought Carter had a chance to go first overall.  Unless Ward decides to murder someone or skydive without a parachute - he’s going to be the pick.

No the opposite. Would Chiefs have taken 3 first for Mahomes in 2022? Would Bills have taken three firsts for Allen a few years ago?  Ward has that potential so why take three firsts for him when he is even younger.
