Popular Post EC34
I have watched 55+ years of football in my life. That was certainly one of the worst half's of football I have ever witnessed from a QB. I have been a Levis fan ... but I am unconvinced you can correct stupid and he simply played a really dumb brand of football. Ran Carthon did a masterful job this offseason. Granted, Caleb Williams wasn't ready for an NFL defense. That said, every level of the defense was stout. Offensive line. Not good but not the excuse for Levis' mindless play. Special teams were putrid and certainly share in the blame. But this was simply a game that said to me that it is less than likely we have our QB of the future. And that sucks. One bad half does not define a football player. But that type of half can never happen again. Will, brother, NEVER again! pat, Thrill, DCTitan, and 3 others

In fact if we include Oilers it's probably only behind that crazy comeback the Bills had. I'd rank this as 2nd. I don't think I have even seen a game where a team puts up less than 200 yards, QB less than a 100 yards, no offensive touchdowns and they still win the game and score 24 points. That's mind blowing. We won a game like that against the Jags in 2006. Exact score! https://www.espn.com/nfl/game/_/gameId/261217010/jaguars-titans XAEA12
Popular Post heyitsmeallen
This was one of the worst losses in franchise history imo. You don’t go up 17-0 and lose a game where the opposing team doesn’t score an offensive TD. pat, IsntLifeFunny, DecepticonShawn2, and 3 others
Frank Andbeans
Even this early it's really hard to say that game wasn't the death knell for Levis. He was just that bad but the "leadership" between plays while being our worst player can't sit well in a room full of professionals. I think I'd be happier to watch Mason Rudolph as we'd at least get to see our O line progress without a QB running to the pressure. Watching Levis fail at basic concepts taught at the levels below the NFL was a huge red flag. But I think the team has to go with him all season to see what he can and can’t do. I’d rather go 0-17 with Levis and get a top pick next year than go 6-11 to 9-8 with Rudolph and his lack of a future. DCTitan

If Levis looks this bad 3 games in a row--where he has to deal with at least one top defense in the Jets and two solid defenses--Cally has no allegiance to Will. I could see Mason getting in and getting the run.
TheBukafax
Lmfao at this being one of the worst losses in franchise history. 59-0 Pats was way worse. Crumpler Playoff game vs Ravens and to cap it off the Bills comeback in 93. This game wasn’t that bad. titanruss, abenjami, freakingeek, and 1 other

The real obligation is to play who gives you the best chance to win. Otherwise how can you expect the other 52 to work their asses off when you allow the QB to throw you out of games. Bongo59
NYJ D is a lot better than the Bears. Next week is going to be ugly is the run out 76 at RG to block Quinnen Williams.

They beat the brakes off the Titans. When you literally beat yourself that's embarrassing and humiliating. It's a level of incompetence that makes me think of Steve Urkel or 3 stooges...All game all I could hear in my head was "Did Iiiii do thaaaat Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk" All game? The team played competently until that last 10 minutes.

Every franchise in pro sports has a period where they have a shitty roster, and they get blown out. It sucks, but it's kind of inevitable. That Ravens game was hella unlucky, but you can at least make the excuse that the other team made plays. That Crumpler fumble was a perfect helmet-on-ball tackle, and the guys on defense get paid too. But giving a team 17 points and losing by 7 is a special type of loss that I really can't stand. Say what you want about Mariota or Tannehill, but they weren't fucking stupid. Late on reads, inaccurate, refused to let it rip, all valid criticisms, but they weren't fucking stupid. Like.... I can't go back to the Locker/VY/Mettenberger days. I can't go back to stupid QBs.
abenjami
I first became really concerned about Levis decision making ability (or lack thereof) when he chose to be the mayonnaise guy. GridIronFox23, Hyperion, and Number9 1

I think if he had a heart he could have actually been a solid QB. He and Colin McCarthy sudden retirement hurt our franchise. I actually think Locker had all the tools except mental toughness (Which is obviously huge in football). And in Defense Colin McCarthy could have possibly been a perennial probowler if he didn't retire so young. Part of the reason Locker got hurt was because he couldn't read defenses and got blown up by blitzers. Taking sacks rolling out on 4th and goal. Just a dumb QB.
