I don't think she's winning any primary but, assuming she would have, it's entirely possible that the primary process hurts her more than the benefit of relieving the burden of her being hand-picked ... which was a negative with some.

She’s just not likeable.  Her flaws probably get exposed more and yeah I agree she probably loses to some other person in the primary.

I honestly don't think Trump could have ever beaten a man. This country isn't voting for a woman to lead the country, the democrats gave him both victories on a silver platter.

She did so poorly in the last primaries I don't see it having gone any differently just because she was VP.

 

She isn't Hillary who had a chokehold on the DNC leadership, and even she didn't have any real competition in the primaries, and if she had she's probably losing too. Jim Webb? Lincoln Chafee? Martin O'Malley? LOL. They even wanted to keep Sanders out of the primary for being an independent

Yeah I don't think she would have won but it's kind of impossible to predict. Harris would have started as the favorite (but a fairly weak one, around 33% of the vote) according to the limited 2024 primary polling that excluded Joe Biden.

 

I'm definitely tired of them being so heavy handed in selected the candidates. I mean, if you're going to do that at least PICK GOOD CANDIDATES lol

I said at some point leading up to this that it should've been Beshear from Kentucky.  He's a young guy, as far as I know doesn't have baggage, he won a red state so he knows how to deal with people on the other side and most importantly he had no ties to the Biden campaign.  He's also from the middle of the country which I think would've helped.  He'd be a great guy for the Democratic party to get behind for 2028.

Back in 2016 I talked about how Biden fucked up by deciding not to run, which caused Hillary to be unconventionally thrown into the race.

 

Now Biden did it again.  I heard this mentioned by Chris Christie on election night.  When he was elected in 2020, he himself indicated he was going to be a transitional president and would only be doing one term.  But then he changed his mind and insisted on going for re-election and by the time the Dems realized that wasn't going to work it was too late and they had to throw Harris into a race she obviously had no shot at winning.

I said the same thing. He steps aside for Hillary, then he runs at an ancient age, then the biggest issue was running a second term, followed closely by insisting on a black woman as his running mate, not only upsetting and uniting the right but ultimately providing a predecessor the country wasn't ready to elect. Even that might have been forgiveable if he didn't endorse her, thereby basically crowning her as the next candidate with 3 months to prepare. He really hung her out to dry, quite frankly.
