Mahomes signing a 10 year deal cost himself money in the long run. I’m sure he likes security, but he should be signing deals no longer than 3 years at a time. He would reset the market every time.

Certainly, but he also makes god knows how much money outside football. Its the smart move from building a legend stand point to take the cheaper deal.

Imagine Levis pulling a Jordan Love and having 3 middling years and getting re-signed as the highest paid player of all time

His agent was just waiting in the wings for that tua contract to get finished.

I wonder how many cowboy fans are on suicide watch now that its going to cost 60mil  a year to keep dak lol.

He was a top 5 QB last year, always getting paid

Top 5? Good season but gotta disagree on that one.

No All Pro, No Pro Bowl, 9-8 record, a sub 100 passer rating.

Not top 5 in yards, passer rating, qb rating, completions, wins/losses, or game winning drives.

His biggest accomplishments are being #2 in TDs and winning a playoff game to the hapless Cowboys (who always fold in the playoffs). He had one good year and got the richest contract in QB history.

But really it’s the trend, not just him - these QBs will not be able to carry teams once they eat up 1/4 of the salary cap. I just don’t think it’s a good plan for success, even if it happens.

I don’t really care about the stats, in my opinion he was in and around the 5th best QB, and was the best over the last 8 or 9 weeks

He has everything you look for in a modern QB

I wanted us to draft him and actually called the Packers trading up for him. He's a really good QB who needed time on the bench because he was so raw, but he made plays outside the pocket in college that were ridiculous while showing the ability to navigate inside the pocket.

This seems like a burn until you realize that as the cap increases each year so does the Chiefs ability to build around him. And if I'm making $45M a year I'll spell that word however TF I want and won't gaf how much more the other dudes around me are making while I collect Super Bowl ring after Super Bowl ring.

Lets be honest once you hit a certain amount per year which is well lower than 45mil a year you and your children are set for life as long as you are not retarded.
