He illegally took from a pile of money that was meant for poor people. If you agree it was theft and that it was wrong, what's the point of you responding to my comment? He's a dirty thief that steals from needy people which is exactly what I said.

First off, the governor reallocated the funds.  Favre was a major influence in that, but he did question the legality of the move and the governor said it was fine.  

 

Secondly, portraying everyone on Medicaid as poor and in need of help is extremely naive.  I've been in healthcare a long time, both in the south and here in Iowa, and many of those rejects are gaming the system.  

 

Thirdly, not a single Medicaid patient felt the affect of the reallocation.  In reality, the theft was from the tax payer.

 

Again, I'm not advocating that what he did was correct, but at least get the facts straight and leave the naive hyperbole to the leftist talking point in the politics forum.

I didn't bring up politics in the slightest. I said a thieving scumbag was  a thieving scumbag and your apparent disdain for medicaid recipients filled in the gaps. Whether or not the people on medicaid "felt" the impact of his thievery, is irrelevant to the fact that he's a thief. Stealing from the collection plate isn't any less fucked up just because the church is well off enough to not "feel" your theft. The only thing political here is that apparently your right-wing bias is making you sensitive to the plight of people who touch funds that don't belong to them.  He's a scumbag regardless of your spin.

As far as politics, just because you don't specifically cite them doesn't mean they aren't permeating your posts on this.  I'm not right-wing at all, but I do find it funny that you are so upset that money taken from tax payers was allocated for something other than it's original purpose, especially one that benefits a celebrity.  This must be the first time that's every happened, right?

You're the one injecting politics into it. Not me. I'm calling it like I see it. He got his hands on money that was meant for people that needed it  and sought to have used for for his own personal gain. I could give two fucks the mechanisms that he used to achieve it as they do NOTHING to change the intent and outcome. Point out to me any other time something like this has happened and I will say it's just as wrong. I don't play favorites regardless of which side people or on or who they vote for. If that's "naive" then maybe we could all stand a little more naivete if the alternative is being so jaded that naked corruption barely bothers us. He's a thief. Period.

Point out one person that didn't get what they needed because of it.  One.  You can't, because it didn't affect anyone but the taxpayers.

I don't need to point out anyone that didn't get what they needed. It's completely irrelevant to the what he did and his intent. If I rob you but you're able to pay for everything you need does that change anything about the fact that I robbed you? No. This is a red herring from you.

 

Sure, the governor is a corrupt piece of shit too? How does that take away from what Favre did? I'm focused on Favre because he is the face on this and is literally the person being discussed in this thread. As a former NFL player, his involvement in this scheme is why most of us even know about it. Why do I have to explain this to you?

 

I don't play favorites and if at any point I am and someone can show me how I'm being biased I'm always open to changing my mind. I have my own political leanings, but I'm not so tribal that I eschew my morality for it. Like I said, feel free to point out anyone that did similar things and I'll say they're just as wrong regardless of their affiliation. 

 

As far as medicaid, I'm no expert on it but I would wager a guess that there are way more people on it that actually need it than there are those trying to scam the system. The welfare queen narrative has always been bullshit and this smells like more of the same. I'm gonna pay my taxes regardless so if a 100 scammers get over on me on the way to making sure that 1,000 needy people are taken care of, I don't care. My tax money goes to tons of shit, I don't approve of so I'm not stressing it.

The peoples champion Pretty Rickey once again had the early scoop he must have pretty good contacts with one of the top agents or someone in the league office who deals with these contracts because he has a good record beating the likes of Schefter/Rapoport to reporting these big deals.

 

His track record on draft stuff wasn't as reliable.
