It’s also worth noting that Henry led the NFL in rushing attempts and had zero fumbles….something hasn’t happened in almost 40 years.   The last guy to do this was Gerald Riggs way back in 1985.

Look at all those defenders chasing down a rolling tomato can!

Derrick Henry sure seems to get a lot of those "anybody could do it, perfectly blocked plays" ever since he was declared a bum by message board illuminati.    Luckiest back in history, I gue

As ever, the delusion is remarkable.

People (I'm sure yourself included but I don't recall specifically and simply don't care enough to look) claim Henry isn't that good, in part because he's not versatile and could only succeed on the Titans where everything is geared to feeding him. I disagree.

He then goes to a team that is "a complete 180 the opposite" and looks as good as ever. Instead of being willing to admit that take was always absurd, your takeaway is that the Titans should have been running a different offense? Oh, and he's still too limited. There's two perfect, lucky situations he fell into. One where he's the entire focus and then one that's the "complete opposite." But he'd fail at everything in-between because admitting you were wrong on his limitations is also impossible.

Here's something to consider: The respective quality of Ryan Tannehill and Lamar Jackson are the main reason the two teams run/ran the offenses they did. Sorry.

That’s it, end of discussion, a murder just took place

It's amazing they keep running their heads into a brick wall.  I think they are afraid that a lost(wrong take) will destroy their credibility.  The "that's right" bunch will be confused.  Confused because the evidence is so overwhelming opposite of the hill they chose to stand on they fear people may realize they are not bastions of football knowledge.

Maybe, just maybe another poster could be right.  So, it never ends.

Even though I don't agree with people like Bud and Oilerman, I respect them because they have their own opinion. It's okay to disagree and argue about some things.

What's cringe to me, are guys like FireInTheHole, IowaOiler and several others, who don't have their own opinion, they are just repeating what guys that are already mentioned above are saying. Put them on forum where everyone likes Henry, or whatever player/coach and they will like their posts and agree with them. I'm here to expose those pussies.

This is really basic stuff and you really see who doesn't know what they're talking about.

There have been a million articles and data to prove it. Throwing the ball on conflicted downs is more effective than running it, period. It doesn't matter who the RB is. The best teams pass the ball more.

When Tannehill took over the Titans pass game was right around what Lamar Jackson has done the last two seasons. I'm sorry but that's a fact. Both passing games were excellent.

The Titans were way more effective passing on conflicted downs than running it. Another fact.

It was stupid to run the ball as much as they did on conflicted downs. There isn't some secret reason they had to do it. It's because Vrabel is a meathead. It cost them multiple playoff games in a row with Henry averaging 3 yds a pop. Even when Dobbs started vs the Jags in the elimination game they were better passing on conflicted downs.

Choose to believe otherwise, you are wrong.

It is basic stuff and it's laughable and telling that the retards still don't get it and think they've won this discussion.

Henry clearly isn't washed so anyone who claimed that was wrong.  What isn't wrong is that he's largely dependent on a dominant run blocking OL to maximize his skill set and he clearly went to one of the few teams that has that.  The fact he's getting 2.5 - 3 yards (a career high) before contact refutes any claim otherwise.

That said, the whole comprehension of run/pass on conflicted downs, predictability/tendencies, and it's absolute impact on results is indisputable.

Back in January 2020 after the playoff run, both @OILERMAN and I posted that if Vrabel didn't adjust his game plans for playoff games, they'd never achieve success in the playoffs.  Predictably as we both had feared, Vrabel doubled down on "the formula" and never won a playoff game or play-in game again because he tried to hammer Henry on early downs with little success.  Of course teams geared to stop it and rather than counteract that with an early down passing game that had a much higher success rate, he opted to win meathead style.   What it did was put the offense in it's most vulnerable state - pass blocking on obvious passing downs.

The 2020 Titans mirror the 2024 Ravens in a lot of ways.....The Titans actually averaged more PPG by a slight margin.  Tannehill's production is slightly below Lamar's in passer rating/QBR but higher in success rate so not being more balanced on early downs was simply retarded.

The bottom line is that Vrabel self neutered the offense with his playoff game plans and as a result the offense suffered and they lost.  If one doesn't understand that, you're simply stupid.

Gonna be interesting to see if he does that without a generational RB to pair with a mediocre QB. He claims it's because Henry was so good and who would he throw to. When they gave Tannehill more passes in the playoffs, he liked to throw the ball at defenders.

If history repeats itself, it's a Vrabel issue. If new situation produces a different approach, then you'll really have to consider how the situation impacted the approach ... for the first time.

When they go into beast mode, they're like Marshon Lynch.  They don't care if there's a chance they might be wrong or not, they're gonna post into a mutha fucka's face!  ...  over and over... and over and over ... and over and over ....  and over and over and over again!

Goddamn, that's so true and awesome.  Good job, sir!
