I was going to post this but ultimately didn't feel it was worthy of it's own thread; Levis has a chance to be the first agenda-free QB of the modern TR era. I am considering the drafting of Mariota as the beginning of that era and the football death of Tannehill as the end of that era. Levis is a guy that no one here was really all in on pre-draft and if anything some people hated him. Most however were somewhere between ambivalent and uninformed. The anti-Tannehill (oversimplification) posters are pumped about Levis mostly because of Levis but partly because he allows them to dunk on the other side. The pro-Tannehill posters aren't excited to see Tannehill go but have been impressed by Levis enough to be glad to see him take over.

In short, unlike the Mariota and Tannehill era, this time there is no built in half of the board that's going to be unfairly negative towards Levis. Despite their previous agendas, everyone is rooting for him to succeed and more importantly recognizes that Levis being the guy solves our biggest problems and is the fast-track to NFL success. Levis is essentially the common ground where before there was a fissure. We'll all likely find other inane shit to call each other retards over because that's what we do but there is a chance, that for the first time in almost a decade, the QB will not be at the center of the shit talk. Any disagreement on Levis will be because of his play, not in service of a grand agenda.

Quit being a bitch and make this its own thread!

New era begins.   Please declare yourself for or against in the comments, so we can figure out the new teams.

I would have joined the mob if he said anything other than this.   RIP Fanboys.  I know it’s been miserable being wrong at every turn the past 3+ years.  But @OILERMAN @BudsOilers and @oldsc

But nobody can google an old gamebook and claim he remembers what happened 30 years ago!

I won’t dog him on that .  I’m impressed he remembers some of the announcers on those games and some of their comments/commentary!

I admire your optimism but I have a hard time believing this place can get over the agenda stuff.

Still, with Tannehill gone and Henry potentially gone there's definitely a chance for a clean slate.

I'd like to think this is the case but we've already seen some Mariota like fawning and anger towards people pointing out the mistakes (decisions/throws) as being haters or being mad for pointing out that the offense is the same with the same massive flaws in coaching/personnel choices.

TR so far has been better that social media but we'll see what unfolds.  If Levis stacks up some Falcon like games, he'll own the town and site.  If he stacks up some more Steeler type games and losses, then you worry that the mistakes are indeed fatal flaws and why he slipped in the draft.

For me, I want to see better coaching to help the kid and see him improve in his problem areas.  Won't happen overnight but we should see progress.

The next big battle line will be over Vrabel or when they either let Henry walk or re-sign him.

Sure.  Did anyone on the planet expect Dillard to be worse than Daley or for Vrabel to turn around and replace him with NPF who's even worse?  The LT spot is single handedly killing the pass pro aside from the snaps NPF took at RT......

Alot of us expected that Dullard and the patchwork offensive line wasn't going to be drastically improved.

We are also helping BOTH OT at the highest levels in the NFL right now, completely limited us offensively.

Dillard definitely underachieved expectations for most people, including the Titans given the contract they dolled out.  My big error was not realizing Vrabel is as big an idiot in terms of OL evaluations as Quiver Chins was.

How do you think coaches get developed? You think they just do genetic testing and then give em a job when they become of age?

Lol, I think it's by proving themselves as a good assistant, showing certain traits that would indicate they might be good at a coordinator level, and then interviewing well with a plan for the offense based on the personnel and the HC's philosophy.

We've got meatheads buddies, who didn't even have to interview.  Kelly was passing game coordinator for the worst passing team in the league last year, and Bowen couldn't run a defense without someone holding his hand.

They sure as hell don't develop them by just giving them the job and saying 'good luck.'

Vrabel again touched on being able to evaluate him in real game circumstances lead to the decision (obviously).

But seems to not apply this same approach to LT (or he does, just with a restricted subset of OL who will be given the opportunity).

So your just as incapable of evaluating players as QC and MV is what your trying to say.

The irony in this thread.

@BudsOilers calling everyone retards that were way ahead of the curve about this whole issue... while he's incredibly slow ( you know, like the literal definition of retarded) to move on and accept it.... and he also apparently doesn't know the difference between ignorance and stupidity.

You take everything so personally and make everything personal.

People never get mad about mistakes of arguments being pointed out. They get annoyed because instead of discussion, they have to deal with you and several others trying to make this place a shithole for people who want to discuss football and enjoy their team.
