You want to know the funny part about the OL stuff?  He can't find RT and G's.  They should be one of the easier spots to find but he batches that up multiple.  Honestly, should have just kept Saffold instead of blowing cash /picks on Jones, Radunz etc.

It's a staggering opportunity cost that he gave up for this Oline to be the result. If I mortgaged my house and put the proceeds in Crypto only to end up in a tent 6 years later, my wife would fire me too.

Vrabel gaining more personnel control is not a good thing - regardless of who the new GM is - I promise you that.

Vrabel's comment "who is he going to throw it to?" about the receivers/Malik is a little more cryptic now.    I loved Jrob, but I love AAS more. She ain't fucking around. Ya love to see it.

To be fair I wouldn't have done the same if I ended up with the other team.

Did you ever win a title?

I took over one of the worst teams and did this on repeat:

You took over one of the best teams and immediately got worse. We'll see how long it takes you.

I’m going to go ahead and eat some crow here, @BudsOilers -

The guy is a grade-A asshole, but he was right on it being a totally different game from a personnel standpoint from taking a team from shitty to good vs taking a team from good to great - where the decision making margin of error becomes incredibly thin, and the stakes are higher. The decisions around cap management become much harder and require a higher level of strategy and intelligence.

So yeah - I was wrong, and @BudsOilers was right on this. Taking the lesson to heart.

Also props to @oldschool for calling out my over-hyping of Robinson while recognizing that he was a good GM, but not elite. Taking the lesson to heart.

But what can I say, I love me some general managers.

Of course I was right!  Kudos for acknowledging

I'm sure someone has already suggested it in this thread, but what are the odds Irsay cans Ballard and goes all in to hire JRob? Given his obsession with overtaking the Titans, I won't be the least bit surprised if it happens. I'm sure Robinson has his own anger and frustration with how things went down. Irsay would love to channel that anger into revenge...right into a new role as the Colts GM.

Irsay desperately wants to one up the Titans. I don’t think he could go out and hire a guy the Titans fired to be their new GM. He would get so much abuse. He might try to steal a guy out of our front office, but I can’t see him picking through our trash.

The worst part of Conklin was NOT giving him his 5th yr option.

To this day I still don't understand. He was an All Pro player from day one, had a serious injury, and then an off year in which he was recovering... the only rationale anyone could conclude was that you don't spend that much on RTs..... But then why would you trade up to the top 10 of the draft giving up so many draft assets to get him in the first place if thats your philosophy.

A lot of people are shocked a GM without a losing a record and multiple division titles was  fired. jrob will get another shot, he's not damaged goods. I could easily see Irsay hiring him thinking he can replicate what he did in Tennessee.

Only when I'm not drinking and dipping.

A friend of a friend's grandmother and their uncle were supposedly sitting at the kitchen table. I don't know if they were eating or just sitting there talking or whatever. Anyway, their grandma goes to take a drink of her coke but then started spitting it out and puking it back up. Apparently the uncle had sat his spit bottle, which was a coke bottle, next to her bottle of coke. She took a big swig of redneck tea like it was a beer challenge. Everyone understands that the uncle is just 1 rung above homeless street wanderer, but I mean... whew. Maybe don't sit your bottle of backwash on the table.

I wonder if that's real reason JRob got shitcanned. Maybe he left his spit shit nearby and Vrabel or AAS accidently chug-a-lugged.
