If they start bringing back people who were banned for good reason, someone will try to start a competing service that aims to hold more to the line that pre-Musk Twitter has followed. Easier to buy an established platform if you think you can increase the value quickly rather than spend years building up a new platform, competing against an entrenched opponent, and waiting a long time for it to turn a profit.
