Exactly. They're essentially giving the titans more than they've asked for in exchange for breaking the lease and being able to redevelop that area of town that's now worth hundreds of millions of dollars in land value. That doesn't even get into the money they'll make from using it year round as a concert venue or event space. The city wants this more than the team or fans want this. I think tax payer funding of this is bullshit and not how municipal bonds should be appropriated, but it's 100% going to happen. The city will agree to the terms of the existing deal if they want the team to stay. As I initially stated on page 1 of this thread. The NFL always wins. Anyone pretending the city has any leverage over the Titans is delusional. A handful of cities would be wanting the Titans to move there if Nashville fucks it up. Only if the thing that's never going to happen happens. You're about as far from correct as Ving Rhames was from being alright in Pulp Fiction. I don't know why you are making a stink about someone saying that the NFL has no problem relocating when cities don't bend over backwards, I highly doubt the NFL thinks Nashville is any sort of special because they hosted the largest draft. WTF are you talking about. Bud has been crying about how we're going to fuck this up and lose the team to fucking ST LOUIS LOL? The team, the city, the NFL, and the state are almost entirely onboard. BudsOilers
Breaking the lease? The city violated the lease by not maintaining the stadium for 15 years...... Taxpayers should be fitting the entire bill so the team is giving the city a break. Thankfully the ownership is only putting in 370 M of the 840 M team portion.....200 M comes from the NFL, and PSL's will fund another 270 M of it. But claiming the city council is on board when they have yet to approve it and delay it further is disingenuous.....certainly the mayor is on board as well as the Sports Council but there's a reason why this isn't done yet. Buffalo had a similar time line and there's is completely done. But again, all I have said is that if the city does indeed fuck it up by not approving it or trying to change the deal terms, the NFL and Titans will find another city to build them a state of the art stadium. Which is 100% true and proven time after time. And I will laugh and laugh and laugh..... Edited April 6, 2023 by BudsOilers

They're rewriting the lease in the upcoming deal which will allow for retail and housing above/underneath stadium parking. Try to keep up. I know you're out of your depth here. This is also working in tandem with the city trying to acquire some of Icahn's massive metal recycling plant across the Korean Vets bridge and connecting it to the upcoming Oracle campus and new bridge across the river to the north. Wrong.....Of course the new stadium deal comes with a brand new fucking lease. The current one expires in 2029.....How dumb are you?

That's all I've ever said. You agreed. You're literally calling me out for something you agree with. The fact I think such a scenario, as farfetched as it may be, is funny is why you're really upset. SleepingTitan
3 hours ago, BudsOilers said: Wrong my inbred imbecile.... The team obviously wants to stay. I've never claimed otherwise. But that's with the caveat of a new stadium on the deal they agreed to. Do you really think the team will be happy and stay IF Metro says no to the stadium deal? Of course not. They've already shown that the city is in breach of the existing lease because they failed to maintain the stadium. There's no question at all that unless the city finishes approving the stadium deal, the NFL and team will find a city that will. Ask Oakland, San Diego, and St. Louis......It amazes me that you are this dense. I knew you were stupid but still.... Metro is not saying no, they're just putting up an appearance of resistance so the left wing faction of Nashville doesn't lose their shit. Their taxes are going up, their reps are getting tossed from the House, and their district got carved like a fucking chess pie. Thrill

Would be pretty crass to debate a bill to give an NFL millions in benefits literally the day after a school shooting. The hearing they punted on the 2nd reading was last night....not a day after the shooting but I get the point. Sounds like they did spend time on the subject though and went through some votes on it from what I saw.
