Correa is a JAG for the most part but gave us 5 sacks and played decently in the playoffs. Could we use a total stud pass rusher? Sure. Clowney has issues staying healthy and is arguably not the super stud consistently. You could sign Quinn for close to half. We could draft someone late in the first who could be another TJ Watt. I'd pass. JRob should keep looking for value in the draft and if anything sign a mid tier guy like SK stated. Clowney was actually the 20th rated Edge player per PFF and a player like Quinn or Fowler is not much less of a player. People also over look the value of other guys like Conklin. Edge is a need but I'm not sure Clowney is the answer at his price and value. Good points. Fact is you have to overpay for edge rushers in FA if you dont have homegrown talent. Ignoring edge rush in the draft the past few years all but necessitates overspending on the position in FA. Supdawg
Clowney was ranked as the 7th best DE/OLB in pass rush win rate at 25%. He would be a huge upgrade to anyone on our team. tgo

Alcibiades
I think our top FA signing should be Ryan Tannehill. But, if you are talking about players who were not Titans this year, then yeah, Clowney would be a good choice. As others have noted, he'd make everyone around him better, and he'd make some plays too. Having Clowney, Casey, Simmons, and Landry on the field at the same time would be a lot of fun to watch, too! Stan
We made it to thr AFC championship game with no real edge rusher. We had the chiefs. We didn’t lose because of no pressure Mahomes was pressured he was just to good. Clownney would have just ran right by him. Our guys ran right by him and therein lies the problem.

Thank goodness the team didnt play a good passing offense in the 1st two rounds either or the pass rush would have been exposed earlier. As for acquiring a stud corner do you understand how hard they are to acquire? They are more rare than franchise QBs. The team had a chance to get one a few years in Lattimore @japan but took Cory Davis instead. Butler and Jackson are not the problem... His stats are good but not great despite being surrounded by talent his entire career. He's asking alotta $ for Orakpo production. You would put the one of league's best edge run-defenders on the bench for first and second down?

rns90
This is speculation from Walter Football but: One of the top free agents in 2020 will be Seattle Seahawks defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, and Clowney has stated a team's likelihood of Super Bowl contention is a key factor for his signing. WalterFootball.com has learned from league sources that the Indianapolis Colts are one of the teams are expected to make a run at signing Clowney. The Colts have a ton of salary cap space and money to spend, and they could use an impactful player on their defensive line. Clowney would also be a great scheme fit in Matt Eberflus' defense. Signing with Indianapolis would also give Clowney the opportunity to play the Texans twice per year, and going against his former team could be a nice perk to signing with Indianapolis. There could be a competitive market for Clowney, and his preference for Super Bowl contenders could rule out some teams, but sources tell me the Colts are going to be a team in serious pursuit of the star defensive end. https://walterfootball.com/nflhotpress/article/Senior-Bowl-Rumors-Friday The tidbit about the Jets taking a CB/OT at 11 is also relevant. tgo
