Nothing. He wont be able to contribute much for another team this year.

Was really talking about after the season. I know he has no trade value right now being injured, but not sure how much gas he has left in the tank..

Smith might be the team's best skill player and he might be one of the best TEs in the entire league. He's def the fastest and best with yards after catch. It wouldn't surprise me if he's not the fastest WR/TE on the roster. He's also developed into a very good inline run blocker. He can play on the line, in the slot and even as the X WR.

I also noticed the Titans played Firkser a lot more with Smith today. That should probably be their TEs in the two TE base sets. Smith is a good enough inline blocker to have Firkser on the field with him.

I’m not just saying this but one of the things I was most interested in seeing was Smiths play after RT took over, assuming Tannehill would play well. Its becoming pretty obvious that he was really being held back. Marita started throwing him the ball a bit more mid last year & he started making plays, but the last 2 weeks he’s been playing like a star. He’s not the type that’s ever going to catch a ton of passes but he’s such a huge threat after the catch. He’s so strong & fast.

And Firkser was chronically underused this season. He was obviously a very good 3rd down player last year, with a knock for getting open. But this year he maybe looks a little quicker & he’s been making chunk catches.

Frankly I wish we could take the Humphries signing back. Of course it’s easier to say now, but with the above 2 along with AJ Brown, we have a lot of shorter/intermediate types.

What we could really use now is a shifty pass catching back.

Is he legit hurt or is the team sortve using the injury to quietly phase him out?

Zero trade value after the season because his contract is too high for his production.

He is such a huge Mariota guy. Maybe they think he won't be happy without him. Pruitt can go too. He's not doing much. Had a bad drop today.

It makes no sense. Henry and Mariota had a good connection early on, but everyone, Walker included had to have seen his struggles as of late and known he wasn't the best option as the QB going forward.

Smith became a good blocker last year. Its no longer an issue.

Agreed, but Firkser still may be better at it, and frankly, if they are about even, I can see using Firkser to block on long downs just to keep Smith fresh. The rise of both players allows us to let Walker ummm...Walk. Sorry. But more seriously, I'd hate to lose Walker. He's a great player and I think he still has something left. But we have other players to sign, and it appears we can afford to go with Smith and Firkser (and pruitt or whoever as the third..doesn't matter much).
