Popular Post OILERMAN
Everyone is raving about Simmons coming back from an ACL, guess who else is way ahead of schedule of their ACL recovery. Jonnu Smith. Smith might be the team's best skill player and he might be one of the best TEs in the entire league. He's def the fastest and best with yards after catch. It wouldn't surprise me if he's not the fastest WR/TE on the roster. He's also developed into a very good inline run blocker. He can play on the line, in the slot and even as the X WR. I also noticed the Titans played Firkser a lot more with Smith today. That should probably be their TEs in the two TE base sets. Smith is a good enough inline blocker to have Firkser on the field with him. TNTitans, Justafan, AvgJoe, and 9 others 10
Popular Post AvgJoe
Good post. Tremendous job by Robinson and his scouts to draft this guy. Bluth, ChemEngr79, TylerRoseFan, and 3 others

Doesn't surprise me, how many long TDs does the guy have? He's a threat to go the distance and he's a TE
japan
Obvious why Walker is on his way out of town.

He's a threat to go the distance and he's a TE Well he had the 61 yarder last year and had another long TD on a TE screen under Mularkey, probably more. He’s like the CJ of tight ends - super fast and great at YACatch. He should be a featured player going forward.

Incredible guy for Smith to have learned under the past two years. I still think he needs to develop a little bit more as a blocker, not quite on Delanie's level but he has grown tremendously in that area since his rookie year. cenj
I noticed today that Smith was the base TE on 3 WR sets for 1st and 2nd downs, but they started pulling him and playing Firkser on 3rd downs and long. I like Firkser, but I thought it was odd that in obvious passing situations, they apparently value Firkser over Jonnu. Then again, it could just another of the many idiotic decisions by Vrabel. VaTitan
He's always been an offensive playmaker but was a liability blocking. I'd be curious to see how he's improved with blocking. This is also another area where Mariota killed the offense. He was so locked into Delanie. Players like Jonnu and Sharpe are making plays now that Tanny is in there.
