This time it’s Trump vs not Trump. The democratic candidate is completely irrelevant. Swing state data says otherwise. Look at the effective world series ad. The Trump campaign is flush with cash. OILERMAN
Right now if you ignore Trump and the Dem candidates and just look at the polling and the current approval rating of the president going into an election year it would be a slam dunk the incumbent would lose. But these are crazy times. A few things What's going to be the public reaction to public hearings of the impeachment? Right now people watch political cable TV that reaffirms what they want to believe. Once the real impeachment starts and it's on TV people will see it with their own eyes. If it's a witch hunt people will know, if it shows Trump is crooked and guilty people will know it. What's the economy going to do in 2020? If there is a recession Trump has no chance of getting re-elected regardless of anything else. Another factor could be if Trump's tax returns/financial reports get released before the election. If that stuff is damning Trump's lock on Republican support could fall for the first time. If it shows he doesn't pay taxes or gets money from Russia it will be damning, now you're talking about his supporters feeling stupid.

Rogue
5 hours ago, Pragidealist said: Didn’t say forgone conclusion - said it will be trump vs not trump The GOP base NEEDS Trump to win, because Dems. Don't make the mistake that the base will be complacent. It's clear with every post the GOP base will vote Trump, because Dems. The handful of Republicans that have come out against Trump are meaningless, or near meaningless. The base don't care about these people, because Dems. It is Trump vs Not Trump, but it is a mistake to think the Trump is not significant. You can appeal to logic, but that is folly. We're not dealing with logic. We are still in a culture war, and it's worse now than 2016. oldschool, and IsntLifeFunny 1

No1TitansFan
Much more important polling, swing states; Trump is way closer than people realize and he isn't losing to all of the big 3 in each state, https://www.nytimes.com/2019/11/04/upshot/trump-biden-warren-polls.html . This is all going to come down to these states, been watching a lot of coverage of both sides organizing efforts and the voters in these states on both sides don't rate the impeachment issue highly at all in making their determination. Cnn had an interesting anecdotal poll in a story about a Michigan district that voted for Trump but that they were able to swing to a Democrat, more than 70% of the Trump voters who voted for the Democrat said they would vote for Trump in 2020 How Trump fares among registered voters: Michigan Trump vs. Biden: Even Trump vs. Sanders: Sanders +2 Trump vs. Warren: Trump +6 Pennsylvania Trump vs. Biden: Biden +3 Trump vs. Sanders: Sanders +1 Trump vs. Warren: Even Wisconsin Trump vs. Biden: Biden +3 Trump vs. Sanders: Sanders +2 Trump vs. Warren: Even Florida Trump vs. Biden: Biden +2 Trump vs. Sanders: Trump +1 Trump vs. Warren: Trump +4 Arizona Trump vs. Biden: Biden +5 Trump vs. Sanders: Trump +1 Trump vs. Warren: Warren +2 North Carolina Trump vs. Biden:Trump +2 Trump vs. Sanders: Trump +3 Trump vs. Warren: Trump +3 Based on a New York Times/Siena College poll of 3,766 registered voters from Oct. 13 to Oct. 26. oldschool
