If they try to block it their arm will break and it's likely they drop the knife. That's not my argument, my argument is you will not get a solid shot on me with a bat. Remember, this is a fight to the death. You really have one shot with the bat. Someone with a knife can lunge inside and out of the bat radius and you better not get it wrong with your swing or your ass will be stabbed. Once you swing that bat your weapon is pretty useless. You could also absorb a less than solid bat hit and still get inside First off, i concede that it is a totally valid strategy for the more athletic person to choose the knife to bait a less athletic opponent into over confidence. You're not taking me out with one bat swing outside a clean shot to the head. Lunge in and out, try and bait out a swing. But someone with the knife has the advantage of being able to freely move better. You ain't moving real well with a bat cocked back. You pretty much have to stand your ground. Think about this...... You're holding a bat ready to swing. Someone is running towards you and stopping right outside the range. There is a mili-sec when you have to decide to swing, if too early you're wide open and getting stabbed.
